Now that Ronda Rousey vs. Amanda Nunes is official for 207 I thought it would be interesting to see what folks think Rousey's fight should have been.

Rematch with Holm, I think. Ronda didn't deserve a title shot after being out for this long and the person that sent her on hiatus happens to not be champ anymore.

I'm completely fine with Ronda returning for a title shot, and I'm not even a fan. After utterly trashing the division and running the place, I think it's fair to throw her right into title contention. It's just a situational thing. I wouldn't have minded a Holm rematch at all, but I'm also not bothered by her getting Nunes. And the fight itself should be good.

I would have prefered Holm but, Dana and co. were always going to give Ronda exactly what she wanted and nothing less.

Whoever has the belt is who I want to see Ronda fighting.
There's no money in a Holly/Ronda match. No money in Holm at all honestly. It was the only fight Ronda looked bad in and the only one Holm looked good in.
Cyborg? Ronda via USADA. Meisha? Her entire goal would be to finally lose to Ronda by decision. Carano? Last fought 7 years ago in a different weight class. Seems legit.

Holm because getting her win back would of given UFC the rights to say Ronda is back and ready to take her shit back.
Cyborg because I did agree with Ronda at the time champions dictate the rules but now you aren't champ and have no excuses not to fight her. We all know Cyborgs past and so far she's been clean in her UFC fights.

I'd pay triple to watch her fight and knock out CM Punk in under a minute
But for a serious answer, I like rematches in fighting sports. So Holm. Although constant rematches gets annoying FAST. (looking at you WWE)

Rousey kept the last fight standing when she knew if she took Holm down she would tap her easily. The only chance Holm had was for Rousey to challenge her striking. It was clear after the weigh ins that Rousey wasn't in her right mind. Every analyst was talking about how Rousey didn't look herself or act confident from that Friday afternoon on. A clear-minded Rousey is unstoppable. I'd expect Rose to finish Holm within seconds of taking her to the ground. That sounds like destroyed to me. |

I'm ok with this. Despite the devastating loss to Holm, she was so dominant for so long, I think she does deserve a shot.
That said, it woulda been cooler had Holly been champ this whole time and THAT been the return fight.

I am fine with the match we're getting. Holly makes sense, sure, but I don't think it's out of the question to give her a title shot.
