Even David frickin' Otunga made me laugh. No Chin Music is now up there with the greatest calls in commentary history, no joke. Ambrose's taunt of AJ's kicks being as Soccer Mom-like as his hair was great.
Everything in the match was on point.

The end of this storyline has to be Styles utterly murdering Ellsworth. That's the only way this works. You've built up an enormous amount of goodwill for this jobber, but the only way that's going to pay off is if Styles destroying him to gain heat.
Don't drag it out. Fans won't cheer Ellsworth for long. Strike while iron is hot.

Later it's AJ/Ambrose, Ellsworth with the save (two fists!) at the end to stop AJ from doing something dastardly, Ambrose gets the win off of that. All packages wrapped up neatly. Ellsworth role is done in the story, AJ gets his win on a jobber back, babyface Ambrose goes over finally, all in one.

This is a reminder on why I love wrestling so much.

I love how absolutely everything James Ellsworth does is so meek and pathetic looking, but then he hits that wicked NO CHIN MUSIC. It was awesome!

He actually got the Goldberg chants everyone was hoping for last week. The chinlock spot was a thing of beauty, and then, f***ing No Chin Music.
This angle is a masterclass in maximising your return on investment and on getting the most out of a talent's abilities.

AJ failing to lock in the chinlock was fantastic.
And that superkick spot, I can't remember the last time I marked out but I literally shouted "Yes!" and leapt off my bed. Also No Chin Music, what an amazing name for that move.
Excellent how a match with so little actual wrestling can be so much fun on the basis of storytelling and comedy.

Surely if I'm Dean Ambrose, I want James to win since he'll be easier to beat for the WWE title? Humiliating AJ doesn't seem as big a payoff.

We're starting to hit a triple-digit number of reasons why Smackdown is so much more enjoyable than Raw. I watch Smackdown start to finish and then just FF on the DVR for Raw, and there's been plenty of episodes there where I just skip everything. Never thought I'd care about this dude, and obviously they wouldn't give him the belt, but that was a great segment altogether. I hope they do more with this guy (and I don't mean make him job fodder). Only thing that would've been more "holy shit" is if Ambrose hit a spot, Ellsworth won the belt, and then the ref reversed it or Shane/Daniel reversed it (though that'd be more of a Steph/Foley thing to do). I would be OK with them pulling a Triple H/Jericho/Hebner screw job as long as Ellsworth is officially recognized in the title lineage. Maybe he holds the title for a show and Bryan makes him give it back later on, with the understanding that he will be in the record book. Wrestling needs fewer sure things nowadays. Just like UFC, moments where every fighter has a puncher's chance shouldn't be too surprising.

Little fun factoid I noticed someone point out in the Youtube Video, Ellsworth throws a Left Footed Superkick
Only guys I can think off who have done that in big wrestling popularity are Rikishi and Lance Storm. That's pretty good company to be in!
But yknow in an era of Superkicks being a very overused move, it's cool to see Ellsworth's actually be different in that way, makes it stand out even more.

Ellsworth role is done in the story, AJ gets his win on a jobber back, babyface Ambrose goes over finally, all in one. I want a Triple Threat at TLC with Ellsworth, Styles, and Ambrose. Whether it's a TLC Match or not, throwing Ellsworth in as the wildcard would be really interesting, considering now he's also in Dean's way, who could easily go from the rabid supporter to rabid in general if he tries to get the title when he has the opportunity to do so.
I like that dynamic more. Plus. If Ellsworth is gonna get a fluke Title victory, stealing the victory from either Ambrose or Styles would be the way to do it, er go "Pin the other guy after they've taken the big finisher", maybe get the other guy out by No Chin Musicing him.
I don't know, I don't think it's fair to say Ellsworth can't sustain support, dudes a good promo cutter, has a natural charisma about him, I agree the iron is hottest now, but who knows if it would cool. It only seems to be getting hotter to be honest... to the point I can actually see WWE doing something like the above, even if it only lasts till Tuesday. It would be the ultimate "Anything can happen in Wrestling" moment, and by god I want to see it...

First off, the in and out spot was brilliant
But once again, as the Smackdown rep since the draft, I welcome you all to the club. We have Two sets of punches and a pie

Yeah, I can see Ellsworth hitting the No Chin Music to set up Ambrose's title win.
They've got to have him in the Rumble, right?

I want him to win the title. Only has to be briefly but it would be one of the most shocking and memorable moments in WWE history. Would be a proper "anything can happen" thing.

This is why I miss having cable. I am missing so much gold on Smackdown right now. Right, put Smackdown back on basic tv please....

Yeah, I can see Ellsworth hitting the No Chin Music to set up Ambrose's title win. They've got to have him in the Rumble, right? I'm hoping he's in the Rumble just so he can bring things full circle. He's got to be the guy who eliminates Braun, even if it's something like the Andre spot, and he's the guy who gives the final push to get him out.

Yeah, I can see Ellsworth hitting the No Chin Music to set up Ambrose's title win. They've got to have him in the Rumble, right? Only #1, #2, or #3 (AJ's number this past year) to expand the two hands have a fighting chance gimmick. Once jobbered out on Smackdown, hope he stays full-time as a Cruiserweight jobber.
