The TVdeal was worth around £6 million. Challenge also footed the bill for production of UK Tapings and promoted the UK Tour. The UK tour was a group of sold shows where the promoters paid a flat fee to TNA but that seems to have come to an end as well following the dissapointing turn outs for the last set of uk shows. THis was one of TNA's big markets and the've tAaken a huge hit here. There dressing it up on facebook as if its becAUSE of the tape delay and how their uk viewers no longer want to wait a week to see the show. But that has never mattered in the past when they were drawing upwards of 250,000.
TNAs ratings in this country and attendance at live shows have dwindlled since they've lost the huge star power they once had. Nostalgia is a huge market in the uk and i believe thats why there was such a huge appeitiet for tna over here at one point. Since the stars have left so have the viewers.
They've lost TV deals here before though ie Bravo, so maybe they'll end up on another network. There best hope would be Dave picks them up or some other freeview the channel. part of tnas success in this country is it was because it was available for free across all television platforms, if they end up on a channel which isnt free to air then there ratings are going to take another massive hit. They were challenges number one property for a long time so maybe theyll be able to spin it to another network.
There was once a fight network in the uk, which took over the former wrestling channel which TNA started on. It's a shame that platform doesnt exist anymore because that would be the logical choice of station

So who isn't TNA gonna blame for their problems? The same three responsible for nearly all of them...

Just once, I wish someone wouldn't treat TNA with kid gloves with their press releases, and would say "We're cutting ties with TNA because they're just dire. F*** those c***s."

Love Mike Johnson's reaction to TNA's statement:
Note from Mike: Yes, spoilers led to one of the end of the company's most important TV deal. Let that claim sink in for a second....TNA doesn't want fans to be spoiled....so they are going to stop airing the program altogether? This is a company that just filmed all of their TV MONTHS IN ADVANCE and in January will FILM THROUGH APRIL. I can't even begin to see or understand the logic in this explanation. It is as bad as the portrayal that the company chose to leave SpikeTV

Goes to say something when Mike Johnson calls them out on their stupidity

Just to note i'm not defending TNA in any way here, but I think with spoilers they mean from the day of the US airing to the day of the UK airing - which is like three days. Even then, still a pretty stupid claim since I don't think people here in the UK care that much about TNA posting impact clips on facebook/youtube before it airs here.

That's tragic. Yeah the numbers went down but they went down from like 250k to 150k. On a per capita basis, the UK is their biggest market. Was I guess.

Yeah, or maybe the Horror Channel or Comedy Central would be appropriate! Seriously though, I cant see many viable options for them apart from maybe Quest (who have dabbled with sport in the past showing football) or Dave (who have shown boxing and cricket). TNA's announcement looks to be spinning it as if they are looking for a better deal for the UK audience, but I guarantee this axing is coming 100% from Challenge. There's a network named Dave? The +1 version of it is called Dave Ja Vu

"Well, it's a shame that Doctor Strange didn't do well in the US Box Office. We heard from you fans that it was easier to get the DVD from the UK since we delayed the film for a few months and released the DVD right after the release into cinemas"
- No one at Marvel Studios
Yeah, the comparison isn't apt but it fit the joke I wanted to make, damnit!

I wonder if something in the lawsuit hit a little too close to home. Dixie seems to draw from the same bag of tricks in all of her business dealings.

...Damn, I thought they named it after Lister. Shows I should'nt rely on Red Dwarf meta-commentary for accuracy. I much prefer to believe the Dave Lister version of the story They renamed it dave lister for the weekend where they showed the back to earth series

These supposed fans, they somehow can't find the spoilers online from months in advance. Do they imagine that some fan has his friend calling from the US like "You wont believe what happened with Lashley and Edwards this week." "Noooooo. I have to wait 3-5 days to find out!!" Love Mike Johnson's reaction to TNA's statement: Note from Mike: Yes, spoilers led to one of the end of the company's most important TV deal. It's definitely a tough blow, given how much they've been propped up by their international tv deals more than the U.S. ones since leaving Spike.
The whole Sony Six situation is a ticking clock, as it is...

With any luck they'll get a deal on Babestation or something here so we can still enjoy watching the company get utterly f***ed.

Think the guys and gals of TNA who value themselves so poorly can feel those checks bounce every time they take a bump?

They most probably end up on one of those phone in channels or one of those adverts channels by the shopping channels.

Now I'm wondering when the Sony Six shoe drops. If they lose that, then what other major TV deal do they have besides Pop?
