Oceanside City sounds like it should be a city from the 60's with a Superhero.

Something similar happened in upstate New York a couple of months back. An Assemblyman was running for re-election, got charged with fraud and committed suicide. His name was still on the primary ballot and wound up winning the primary a week after his death. One of his last acts before his death was actually to support Trump for President.

I heard of stuffing the ballot boxes with votes from dead people but it's the first I heard of voting FOR a dead person.

Honestly, none of this surprises me anymore.
Some people wanted a dead Gorilla as President for crying out loud.

how is a month and a half not enough time to remove a dead person from a ballot? It's not as easy as just changing a piece of paper or editing a Word file. A lot of legal crap goes on behind the scenes to make a ballot. And the second absentee voting starts, the ballot is locked in.

It's not all that uncommon in the US actually. If the deadline to remove a name from the ballot has been past the candidates name still appears on the ballot. This is what happened in the 2000 Missouri Senate race when Mel Carnahan died in a plane crash shortly before the election or in 2002 when the same thing happened to Paul Wellstone.

Oceanside City sounds like it should be a city from the 60's with a Superhero. Or a neighborhood/suburb in Grand Theft Auto
