So Goldberg is going to have a reason to enter the Royal Rumble..... Brock screws him and then gets his win at Mania, right? Vince won't let a WCW guy get the best of WWE will he? LOL

I'm of two minds.
1. If this is, indeed, Goldberg's only match back and he'll never wrestle again. I'm fine with this. Let his legend live on as the only man who could convincingly destroy Brock Lesnar. I'm cool with that.
2. If Goldberg ever wrestles again, this was for nothing. A single return match for Goldberg where this happens can be forgotten, you can always say Brock got overconfident, refocuses and becomes the monster he was before. If Goldberg comes back for another match, it feels like Brock's entire Doomsday run ends for no good reason.
I dunno, it took me a few months to be okay with Undertaker's streak ending the way it did, and how Brock was the guy to do it.... maybe I'll come around to this given some more time. But right now, that's where I stand.

Part of me thinks that this is a way to hype up a match at Mania as now Goldberg is truly the one man that Brock could never beat.

Anything probably would have been a disaster. I thought it was pretty cool.

My eyes are f***ed up. I can't believe I saw this. Goldberg is literally an old man who's still the strongest person kayfabe alive. Oh my god. I finally get it... Goldberg is Whitebeard.

WWE should have booked Goldberg like this 13 years ago.

I get that people don't like it, but compared to Suplex City, or whatever the hell Summerslam was, I'll take it. It was following a 56 minute match featuring Styles, Ambrose, Orton, Reigns, Owens, and Jericho; the longer it goes, the more it's exposed as being a bad wrestling match. Moreover, Brock's Uber character, what was the payoff? Reigns? It was a slog watching Lesnar now; and now can give him an avenue to get away from Suplex City, to do something different.

I mean.....if they were gonna do this then Brock Lesnar vs. Steve Austin could have been a possibility even with Austin in bad shape

I'm a Goldberg mark, so that was fun to see, but I'm a fan of Lesnar as well, so I'm a bit conflicted by that.
The way it played out makes me think they are setting up a rematch ("Brock was overconfident and took Goldberg lightly", etc), but I can't imagine Goldberg's going to keep wrestling at his age.
Brock would job clean to Michael Cole in a minute as long as you paid him, so not surprised he got bodied here, but definitely surprised that the WWE chose Goldberg to do it.
Maybe VInce doesn't remember Goldberg was in WCW. Or make Goldberg look strong so the killer of WCW (aka Hunter) could finish Goldberg at WM. I see what you're doing, Vince.

On one hand I do wish the match had more moves in it and was a tad longer, on the other hand I'm glad that the match wasn't suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, Brock wins.

They spend years building up Brock as a once in a lifetime monster. A juggernaut. They feed Taker, Cena, and have him decimate Orton....all to lose in less than 5 minutes to freaking Goldberg??? I don't get it. Who are you to doubt Vince McMahon, Booking SUPERGENIUS?

I swear Ellsworth got more offense in during his squash match with Strowman.
