I don't think he is half bad as an artist, he's just got his head so far up his own ego's ass that it's just killing him. It's a shame really, I guess no one man should have all that power.

Between that and the Tyga thing last Spring, when he started the year as a rapist apologist and I saw all he's done since then coming. It's over. What's over? Him being a hugely successful and famous rapper? Because that's not ending any time soon. Every album he's released has gone platinum. Every time he releases a single it gets massive play on the radio and is consistently in the top 10 on the Billboard charts. Every time he collaborates or contributes as a featured artist to a song, it's a hit. Kanye West is ubiquitous. He's married to one of the most famous celebrities on the planet. He's not going anywhere. I mean him getting a constant pass. He's slowly chipped away at that good will since 2013, and this year it's spiraled out of control. The only universally praised aspect of him was his live show, and now he's found a way to have that work against him. Post-2016 Kanye is a very different light.

Kanye is an artist. He's never been cut out to be a celebrity. Whether that's an insult or a compliment is in the eye of the beholder.

I'd argue that Kanye West hasn't received a free pass since 2009. When you have the President of the United States calling you a jackass, that's about when the free ride ends. Since he stormed on stage at the Video Music Awards that year, every action he's committed has been met by a fairly decent amount of negative reactions. I just think what you're hearing now are those voices being amplified because he's going after the music industry's heretofore untouchable deities such as Beyonce and Jay-Z.

I just think what you're hearing now are those voices being amplified because he's going after the music industry's heretofore untouchable deities such as Beyonce and Jay-Z. But after that is when the Leno interview happened that brought him back down to Earth, beginning the redemption narrative that surrounded MBDTF and put the kid from Chicago in everyone's good graces again. If anything, that period and his comeback redeemed him more because everyone loves a good comeback story. But his MTV VMA 2015 speech began the undoing of all that, and then this year has just be such a negative streak.

I've been a big fan of his music for years, but I'm done with this cat. There are enough talented rappers out there that don't act like complete shitheads.
Snoop Doog's final line in that video was hysterical though.

All right fun and games aside it looks like they admitted him to a hospital."for his own health and safety" after the police made a welfare visit. I would not be surprised if dude is Bi-Polar or something.

You can't keep stabbing your fans in the back like this & expect them to keep having your back. I'm honestly tired of Ye & his shit.

Well shit. Around when Life of Pablo was coming out Rhymefest posted tweeted some stuff about not having talked to Kanye in some time and Kanye needing to get his mind and spirit right. Should have paid more attention then. Hope Kanye gets the help he needs.

I used to think Kanye's more infamous acts of weirdness was an act to play up his personality or something, but I remember seeing the Rhymefest tweet and then his Jay-Z comments and it really does seem as if Kanye needs some help. Hopefully this hospitalization does some good for him.
Also, slightly off-topic, but I still find it amazing how f***ing weird The Life of Pablo is. I listened to it the other day and I still don't know how to process it.
