Up there with Heroes of Wrestling and December to Dismember, this is one of the worst PPVs ever in the history of wrestling and should be brought in only to be used as a form of torture.
It wasn't just the infamous main event that earned its spot in the Hall of Shame, the entire card from top to bottom was awful with the matches being subpar at best and horrendous at worst with botches all over the place. How many First Blood matches end with fake blood being sprayed over an opponent?

I remember that as being the moment that I finally threw in the towel on TNA

Regarding the main event, when Jeff arrived at gorilla, he was actually carried, it was Weekend at Bernie's actually. And f***ing Terry Taylor didn't even suspend Jeff without pay. TNA is somehow run worse than a backyard fed.

I remember that as being the moment that I finally threw in the towel on TNA Any other company and Jeff would've been given the axe and barred for life, and yet he goes and gets paid while sitting at home until Prichard put a stop to that and he comes back and everyone there acts as though he did nothing wrong. The only one who did call him out over what he did was AJ

The only one who did call him out over what he did was AJ Yea you not only disrespected a legend in Sting who has seen a lot of shit but you disrespected the back by enabling Jeff. If I was anyone in the back I would been extremely pissed off not even hearing them give out on him a little bit. Then once he comes back he gets a redemption storyline. I'm glad Jeff is clean now tho. Hell, WWE basically shitted on Roman for a few weeks because of his failed test which apparently came from Adderall. Think if that man was as high as Jeff.

Their treatment of him during this debacle was sickening....no way in hell should anyone be allowed to perform their job duties when they are high as f*** like he was.
Any other business would not have let him work in his condition and would have sent him home, suspended him without pay, or outright terminate him.
While I am glad he's been able to turn his life around for the better, he should have been terminated that day....if you don't give enough of a shit to show up to work like that, then an employer should not give a shit about you ever showing up to work there again.

Was it worse than Victory Road 2009? Yes, Victory Road 2009 was just a bad show, Victory Road 2011 was a damn embarrassment for any company.

Both were of poor quality. 2011 had the cherry on top of the Hardy debacle, which caused a heap of backlash against the company. It was the final straw for many - and rightly so.

I think the worst Victory Road show was the one where TNA management let someone who had no business in the ring have a wrestling match, and get paid quite well at that. Someone really could have gotten hurt. But enough about Jenna Morasca, the Jeff Hardy debacle was completely abhorrent.

Twas a good period for the company otherwise though. One bad show shouldn't put such a black eye on an altogether good year. All other 2011 PPV's were mediocre to very good

From a big picture perspective the Jeff stupidity basically put the kibosh on the Immortal storyline before it could really go anywhere. He was supposed to be the crown jewel of this heel group, yet his own demons made that a moot point. It begs the question as to why such a group would want to build around a man who so clearly had substance abuse issues?
I think I recall hearing about the RVD/Anderson match being hideous on this show as well but I haven't seen this PPV. But then Anderson mostly sucked outside of the Angle cage match and that was RVD at his lowest ebb (and I am saying that as a huge fan). Styles/Matt Hardy sounds potentially okay but Matt was largely terrible and out of shape in 2011.
It's easy to bury TNA for the way they kept the Hardys around, but given how wildly entertaining they've been this year I'm kind of glad TNA didn't just release them.

The Observer's review of this show was pretty funny, but nowhere as funny when they talked about the 2009 show.
Jenna Morasca....whoo boy.

Good exchange at the end though.
Crowd: This is bullshit!
Sting: I agree.

Honestly I'd have let him go out there, just to give him a public wakeup call, then I'd yell at him to get to the back, and send Anderson and RVD (I think? the two people in the double pin in the number one contender's match earlier) out for a 3 way match.

Was it worse than Victory Road 2009? 2011 at least had Beer Money vs Ink, Inc. and Styles vs. Matt Hardy. 2009 had NO good matches.

Any show that ends with Sting, looking absolutely livid, standing on the stage responding to a chorus of "bullshit" chants with "I AGREE! I AGREE!" is a classic to me.
