As a Cubs fan, I really hope this doesn't happen. But I will say I am impressed with the Brewers spending some money and actually going all in this year. It's something the Pirates should have done after 2015 and instead are now rebuilding. Brewers have shown if they think they are close than they will make an effort to go for it. They had great years with Prince/Braun combo and took a big leap when they acquired CC when he was a f***ing horse. I like what they are going and if they get an Ace it will make things interesting That is a good point, the years with Prince were some of their best. I used to make jokes about the catering bill with Prince and Sabathia on the same team. It will be interesting to see how they fare this season. Probably going to be a three way race between the Cubs, Cards and Brewers for the division.

Cubs to me are still favorites tho they will miss having depth in the rotation assuming they don’t get Arrieta or Darvish If the Brewers get an Ace than they will be a strong favorite for a wild card spot which will make Central interesting. Pirates and Reds about to get hurt this year

Pirates and Reds about to get hurt this year This may be my Cubs homerism kicking in, but even without Darvish/Arrieta the pitching lineup is strong and the addition of Tyler Chatwood is much better than people are giving credit for. His numbers at Coors Field aren't the best, but he was tied with Stephan Strasburg for the 2nd best road ERA in the NL only behind Clayton Kershaw. The Cubs will either address the #5 in house through their minor leagues, convert Montgomery into a starter or even a smaller name option outside of Arrieta/Darvish/Cobb, but the four in front are all TOR type pitchers. As far as the Brewers, they get an Ace they are definitely in contention and a wild card spot is already a realistic possibility. Either way, I see them closer to the Cubs/Cards than the Pirates/Reds. Both of those teams in full rebuild mode and it's going to be ugly for them this season.

Chatwood is a nice addition but he's still two steps down from Arrieta (at least prime Arrieta at least) I'm not as much worried about the Cubs pitching as much as I am about the offense. This team is great offensively but I feel like they are due for a stretch where shit just isn't going to click when you got free swingers or dudes who can't make contact like Baez, Russell, Heyward and even Kyle and Kris to a certain extent. At worst they get Cobb one a year deal worth big money so they can make their pitch to Bryce next off season If Brewers get Arrieta or Darvish I expect the Cards to go back out and try to bring back talks for Archer and Colome. Cards have been one of the few teams making a good amount of moves to help their team and if need be, I think they can make another which like I said before would make the Central a pretty good race to follow during the season.

I don't wanna trade Reyes, because then our farm system looks like trash. I'm not big on Kelly at all, and once Bader comes up for good next year, that's it for our prime prospects. Our farm would look like San Fran's. But to get Archer and Colome would be the only way to do it, fixing two big problems on the team. Reyes would be on an innings cap this year anyway, but man do I think that kid is gonna be good.

Reyes would def have to go In order to do that trade the Cards would have to pay a pretty penny but I believe they would have like 4 years of control of Archer at a very affordable salary. I think in the end the Cards will just hold on to what they got. At worst you have Reyes on an innings cap which would allow him to pitch in the bullpen mostly all season or even in the closer role ala Adam Weinwright. There's also pitchers in Miami if they want to go that route with Chen in regards to a salary dump but I think Cards are looking more for a 2-3 type pitcher and not someone for the back end of the rotation at that type of price.

I don't think they will go after both in a package deal at this point. I they could get around trading Reyes if they go after just one of them. All reports that I have that they where only kicking the tires on Colome than going after him aggressively. They where more going for Archer which I think if they do that deal, they be better off. All local media had interviews with the management and both made it clear that they trading or signing a closer long term is risky. Granted the deal Holland got was a good deal and the Cardinals should made it. I think there thinking the closer will come with in from the Minors they said to bring in and someone we know. I've heard Lyons name at times. They need a starter more than anything I think because the innings in a big issue. It think its a mistake and foolish not too be more aggressive in trading for a guy like Archer or spend on one of the top free agents. Makes me made how they went about letting Lynn go and clearly don't have a backup plan for your innings. Lynn was that eater and hell at this point you could sign him at a decent price since nobody else is calling the way free agency as been this year.

Could always bring back Jaime Garcia, tho as a Yankees fan I can tell you he is mostly washed. However, the games he did well Joe Girardi was too much of a controlling ass to let him finish innings

Props to Cleveland to finally dropping the most blatantly racist logo in professional sports.

As in "what a joke that they are removing the logo" or "what a joke that they had the logo"? Removing it. There was literally nothing wrong.

As in "what a joke that they are removing the logo" or "what a joke that they had the logo"? Removing it. There was literally nothing wrong. It seems reasonable to say that it strongly resembles racist caricatures of Native Americans. Couple that with decades of protest from various Native groups makes it probably a good idea to not offend a historically marginalized group when there are honestly many ways to have a logo for a team called the "Indians" that doesn't offend (look at the Blackhawks logo for instance which is very respectful).

A lot of Native Americans would argue otherwise and that this was long overdue. And really, if this was any other racial group, a logo like this would've been gone a long time ago, like I can't imagine a team in 2018 having a black dude as a logo with jet black skin, big white eyes, and huge red lips. Or a Jewish dude with one of those big hats and a Pinocchio nose. Or a Chinese dude with yellow skin, one of those pointed hats, and slits for eyes. Chief Wahoo is on the same level of ridiculous racial caricature as those theoretical logos. But we've treated indigenous peoples like complete garbage for centuries and continue to do so.

Keep Chief Wahoo, don't keep Chief Wahoo. Whatever, I don't care. Just make sure the next logo is more inspired than that boring-ass "block C" logo they've been trending toward.
