I'm wondering when the Giants are going to send Matt Cain to the glue factory. They have another young potential stud in the wings (Tyler Beede) and Cain has been bad going on awful for 3 seasons now. Also Ty Blach, who may be in front of Beede in the pecking order. Either one would be better than Cain.

I'm thinking of starting up a keeper league(like 12 teams, 8 keepers.) Anyone interested? If I don't do fantasy, I do a really shit job of keeping up with the rest of the league outside of St. Louis. I'd absolutely be down. Still down? Anybody in for a fantasy BB league?

Billy Witz of the New York Times reports that Jeurys Familia's domestic violence suspension is "almost certain" to be less than the 30 games Aroldis Chapman received.

Anybody else here used the Ballpark pass for there teams? I see a few teams in the pass have done it. The Cardinals for the first time are doing this. Where you pay a monthly fee for unlimited Standing Room only to home games. Just signed up for it being with work schedules for me, makes it harder to know what games I can go too, with this, I figure when ever I can go, I know I will be able too.

Apparently the White Sox traded Peter Bourgeois to Tampa Bay. Shocked me, I didn't even know he was on the team.

So I'm bitching about the Yankees again. Nothing new.
Apparently there's still a competition on who's getting the starting RF job between Aaron Hicks (.275/.362/.915) and Aaron Judge (.327/.395/.957)
Judge, who's still a blue chip prospect (Despite striking out a ton last season.), has had a superior ST, and was essentially tabbed by Hal Steinbrenner as the RF'er from '17 and beyond still hasn't been announced as the RF when they open in Tampa Bay on Sunday. Then again Cashman has it in his mind that Aaron Hicks is Jackie Bradley Jr. the Second. IfIf he finds himself in AAA to start the season, then the Yankee management are as clueless as I thought. They already sent down a suprisingly good Tyler Wade in favor of veteran bum Pete Kozma or Rob Refsnyder, a victim of Cashman/Girardi foolishness over the years.
This team's ceiling is a Wild Card contender at best. Why waste time leaving young players to rot in the minors? And of if Hicks is such a thing, why the hell hasn't Gardner been traded yet?

You want to know the most annoying feeling in the world? When you have Opening Day tickets, but work converges in such a way to guarantee that you can't go. Ah well, I guess I'll do well on StubHub with them, but I was getting used to attending a good number of openers in Queens (despite the incessant wind off the bay there), hate having to wait longer for this one.
Heck, my work schedule next week will really hurt my chance to get my opening week fix, which is bugging me, but on the other hand I was able to wrangle MLB Network onto my cable package last month and now that I'm doing grad school again I've got a working student email address, so time to throw some cheap MLB.tv into the proceedings.
Alright, shot in the dark playoff prediction time:
NL East: Mets NL Central: Cubs NL West: Dodgers NL Wild Cards: Nationals (WC1), Giants (WC2) -Yeah, no real surprises in the NL, though the Braves will likely take a small step forward in the East (frankly, most of the bottom three East teams will at least be better this year, if not exactly competitive yet), and I do think the Cubs are more vulnerable than people think due to some regression from last year and a few pitching depth questions. Mets/Nats will be very close assuming average health for both teams, but I'll go with the Mets' roster depth to carry the day, and also because I'm hideously biased in their favor.
AL East: Blue Jays AL Central: Indians AL West: Astros AL Wild Cards: Red Sox (WC1), Mariners (WC2) -More room for chaos in the AL, though I think it'll be tough to knock off Cleveland or Houston. Throwing the Mariners in because, hey, why not? Drought's gotta end at some point, and they have some real talent. Rangers seem like a candidate to drop off after their insane record in 1 run games last season, and while the Angels will be better I don't buy them THAT fully yet. Jays/Sox might be the most interesting race.
I don't like predicting what are largely random playoff outcomes, but my instincts are leaning toward Cleveland in the AL and Los Angeles in the NL.

Fearless predictions:
AMERICAN LEAGUE
East 1. Red Sox 2. Blue Jays - WC 3. Orioles 4. Yankees 5. Rays
Central 1. Indians 2. Royals 3. Tigers 4. White Sox 5. Twins
West 1. Astros 2. Rangers - WC 3. Mariners 4. Angels 5. A's
NATIONAL LEAGUE
East 1. Nationals 2. Mets - WC 3. Marlins 4. Phillies 5. Braves
Central 1. Cubs 2. Cardinals 3. Pirates 4. Brewers 5. Reds
West 1. Dodgers 2. Giants - WC 3. Rockies 4. Diamondbacks 5. Padres
-- The two teams I'm having trouble getting a read on are the M's and Rockies. I can easily either of them getting into the playoffs.

We see if that SI cover from a few years ago for the Astros come true I still think they need that dominant force at the top. Dallas outside of his one great year is a good consistent pitcher but they need that strikeout pitcher which they hope Lance will turn into. It will be interesting to see who is available as far as pitchers are concerned this year

Well thank god they came to their senses and put Judge in but I question Joe putting Sanchez as the number 2 hitter behind Brett. I understand the reasoning being you want your best hitter in that spot but there is a big f***ing problem standing in the way and his name is Brett Gardner. Brett will not steal bases and I am worried his lack of aggression on the base pads will mess up Gary as far as pitch counts are concerned. Waiting for Brett to steal and he will end up behind the count a lot. Also I agree they have done Rob Ref wrong. He did an adequate job when he got consistent at bats and then they just replaced him just because. Headley better have a real short leash this year.

During today's game the Padres were attacked by Bees Number of attacks by bees during a Padres game while Pitch was airing, zero. Number of bee attacks during a Padres game while Pitch isn't airing and it's future is in doubt, one. That's a sign, the bees want that show to continue and want Ginny Baker to keep going.

The intro video for MLB The Show '17 is pretty great: Just absolutely perfect. Beginning with Vin and ending with the Cubs finally winning it all, you can't get any better.
