Which movie quote do you think get quoted wrong most often?
One goes for the Empire Strikes Back.
Everyone quotes
"'Luke, I am your father"
That's not what Darth Vader said.
He said
"ObiWan never told you what happened to your father" "He told me enough. He told me you killed him" "No. I am your father"
He never actually called him Luke first.
Nitpicking, I know.

Silence of the Lambs:
Lecter says "Good Evening, Clarice" in a famous scene. Everyone thinks he said "Hello, Clarice" for some reason. It's the most quoted line from the movie (next to "It puts the lotion on it's skin") and no one ever gets it right.
Casablanca:
Contrary to popular belief, not once does anyone say "Play it again, Sam" in this movie. Rick actually says "You played it for her, you can play it for me. PLAY IT!"
The line "Play it again, Sam" is from the Marx Brothers movie "A Night in Casablanca".

That's all in the pronunciation of "Chianti", really. Most people get the line right, they just pronounce Chianti like "Key-on-tee" whereas Lecter pronounces it "Key-ant-ee".

Cary Grant never said "Judy, Judy Judy."
Cagney never said "You dirty rat!" either.

Cary Grant never said "Judy, Judy Judy." Cagney never said "You dirty rat!" either. Hmmmmm. I know he said "You killed my brother!" I'll have to keep an ear out for this next time I watch a Cagney movie.

Dirty Harry never said "Do you feel lucky, punk?" although that's what everyone quotes it as. The real quote is "The question you should be asking is "Do I feel lucky?" Well do ya, punk?"

It's not a movie, but Captain Kirk never said "Beam me up, Scotty" at any point during Star Trek.

Deniro's "You talking to me?" line usually isnt correct nor is the delivery. He says it rather calm and not yelling.

There was a news feature on this some time ago, that almost every "famous" movie quote is actually remembered in a way different from what was actually said.

Deniro's "You talking to me?" line usually isnt correct nor is the delivery. He says it rather calm and not yelling. I love the fact that that whole scene was ad-libbed. Mae West never said "Why don't you come up and see me sometime?" Obi-Wan didn't say "May the Force be with you"... it was Han Solo who said it to Luke (I think).

If I'm not mistaken, Obi-Wan says "The force will be with you...always."

It's not a movie, but Captain Kirk never said "Beam me up, Scotty" at any point during Star Trek. Just like everyone calls Spock "Dr Spock", when his name is friggin' MISTER SPOCK!

The "We don't need no stinkin' badges" line from Treasure of The Sierra Madre They're quoting "Blazing Saddles", I believe, with his line that aped the one from the bandito in TotSM.

Cary Grant never said "Judy, Judy Judy." True, but I believe he did say to his starlets, "Come on over here and let me shag you."
