Otunga has been pushing this line for a few weeks now and it's just idiotic, even from a kayfabe standpoint. The guy has won tag, world and IC titles numerous times, so to present him as someone who isn't really a wrestler like Ziggler doesn't make any sense.

In general Otunga is just awful at this face commentator thing. He doesn't seem to realize that when you bash heels it should be for something they've actually, like, done, and instead just every single time he's talking about one he seems to just be making up reasons off the top of his head to hate them and rolling his eyes at every single bit of praise they get from the others warranted or not. Even just someone saying a heel won a match he reacts like the heel in question keyed his car.

Not to mention the severe hypocrisy of Otunga saying someone isn't an athlete. Otunga was such a clumsy, slow doofus that they took him out of the ring. His attempts at elbow drops looked like some kid on his first day at the WCW Power Plant. Otunga has big muscles but no coordination for wrestling. I don't like Miz but he moves 100 times better than dumbass Otunga.

More than that, alongside Orton he's the most-decorated wrestler on the full-time roster. All the "real athletes" clearly need to step up their games.

I guess it doesn't bother me because they do that in real sports commentary a lot. "This guy doesn't have all the tangibles. He's not the fastest or the biggest or the strongest, but he's got the biggest heart!" or the dreaded "this guy has a motor that never quits!". If anything it's used to put over someone's will and determination to succeed in an environment that's usually reserved for the top 1% of athletes on Earth (while hilariously ignoring the fact that in order to succeed at an elite sports level, you have to still be in probably the top 5% athletically - even with a "motor that never quits"). I guess it is what it is. Probably more of a backhanded compliment than anything.
