He wasn't the same player he was during his first Jets stint. Honestly the Jets are doing the right thing. Wow, the Jets showed clarity, whoda think?

Jets have informed Revis that they will be cutting him His arrest in Pittsburgh a few weeks back is a convenient out for the franchise, but I wonder if Revis would still find himself unemployed even if he hadn't gotten into trouble in the off-season. I really wonder if the Jets were willing to take a long, hard look at their $70 million cornerback with three years remaining on his contract and realize that he's totally washed-up and cut ties with him, or if his name recognition and contract would be enough to keep him in the Big Apple for at least another year. As I've said in the past, I think Revis still has a future in the NFL, but it's most definitely not as a cornerback. He hasn't just lost a step, he's lost multiple steps, as seen by the receivers who were blazing past him all season long. But he still appears to have ball skills and a nose for the pigskin, so I believe converting to safety may add years to his career, not unlike how it salvaged the twilight of careers for guys like Rod Woodson or Charles Woodson. Also, because I'm willing to admit my mistakes, let's step into the time machine and travel back to March 2015 when Revis departed New England and signed with the Jets: I'm beginning to think Bill Belichick might know more about talent evaluation than I do.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets and Bears have "emerged" as suitors for free agent QB Mike Glennon.

He would def need to convert to Safety and hope to have the success Charles Woodson had. Revis Island is shut down but he can still be a productive safety as in his prime he did tackle at a pretty good level. The arrest was a get out of jail free card for the Jets because I believe their decision would of hinged on can Revis make that transition to Safety with ease and he has been willing to do it.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets and Bears have "emerged" as suitors for free agent QB Mike Glennon. Glennon is cheap enough and he had a pretty decent season the year he got extended playing time. I can see the Jets going after Kap and Cutler as well. They need a stop gap but also need a decent enough QB that can get the ball to Marshall and Decker.

Glennon panic throws a lot but they're not bad panic throws. He has a 2:1 ratio. Might be a better option than Cutler or Lap.

There's two ways to look at this:
1) The Patriots see the market for Jimmy Garoppolo isn't what they expected it to be, so they're letting it leak out that they are planning to keep him in Foxboro in the hope that maybe it will drive up his value and somebody will read these reports, panic, and overpay.
2) The Patriots aren't getting the kind of offers they envisioned for Garoppolo, so they're just saying, "Screw it, let's keep him on board for another season, see what Tom Brady looks like at age 40, and go from there."
I've long held the belief that if the Patriots believe Garoppolo is truly the heir apparent to Brady, then nothing short of a godfather offer (i.e. what Washington dealt to acquire Robert Griffin III or what Los Angeles/Philadelphia traded to move up to nos. 1 and 2 last year) should pry him out of a Patriots uniform. If they believe that he's going to eventually supplant Tom Brady, then why not keep him on the bench for one more year (or maybe two, if they franchise him next spring) and then hand over the reigns when Tom Brady's ready to call it a career? I know Brady said he wants to play until he's 45 and he's showing no signs of regression, but someday he's going to stop being the Tom Brady we know and Father Time will catch up to him. I'd rather there be a plan in place when that time comes versus rolling the dice with whoever they draft or sign via free agency.
As I said last September, if the Patriots believe Garoppolo is the real deal, then I'd rather see them hold onto him despite the offers and know that their future is secure and that the dynasty could continue for another decade rather than going all-in for the final two or three years of Tom Brady and praying for a savior.

Hearing the latest stuff on Romo to the Broncos, while I don't want it to happen, I no longer hate the idea. At best we get a top 10(-ish) QB, at worst we are where we are now. Also, hearing more about T-Siem's injury, maybe it would be on the better side. A grade 5 f*** up (originally called a grade 3) that ended up not only needing surgical repair but more than thought. The medical staff needs a new asshole torn for that one and I am really wondering what Kubes and his staff knew.
Anyway, Romo would give these two some time and a little knowledge so I wet from dead against to wait and see.

Reports are swirling that both the Eagles and Titans are in trade talks to obtain Saints WR Brandin Cooks
Dear Philly, if it takes trading Chase Daniel or Michael Kendricks (The reported interests from the Saints), PLEASE DO IT. If I have to sit through ONE MORE SEASON of Carson Wentz throwing to absolute asscheeks Wide Receivers, I'm gonna ram my head through a wall. Cooks is super reliable, had over 1000 yards and 8 TDs last year, is fast, 23, has two years left on his deal, and gives the Eagles depth they currently DONT HAVE. Sure up a key part of this core and then get one of the top Receivers in this years draft, so Wentz can finally have some weapons and the field can open up.
PLEASE, DO NOT LET THT TITANS GET HIM...

For everyone's sake, the Scouting Combine would suck in Los Angeles, so please just keep it in Indianapolis.

Christian McCaffrey did 10(!) reps on the bench press at the combine. That seems impossible for an elite college football player to do that badly

That seems impossible for an elite college football player to do that badly Dude clocked in 20lbs less than that bench and isn't a strength guy, I'd say that is about right for him. McCaffrey was targeted by some draft pundits as a potential late-first round pick and somebody who could potentially be a three-down back. But at 5-foot-11 and 202 pounds and with only 10 reps on the bench press showcasing his present lack of pure strength, he's currently suited more as a third-down back who can catch a screen out of the backfield and make defenders miss. He could obviously pack on a few pounds and eventually develop into that all-around, between-the-tackles back, but he'll be coming into the NFL almost exclusively as a pass-catching running back to start his career.

WR Brandon Marshall is also getting cut by the Jets. Word is he requested it. I do not mind this. Brandon ran his mouth like usual while he was there with the Jets but he was not as "controversial" as he has been anywhere else. He asked to be let go and Jets obliged as he was soon to ware out his welcome like he has done everywhere else.
