Right now I'm watching Survivor Series 1990 on the network, and it got me to thinking. What would have been the plan for Slaughter had Iraq not invaded Kuwait? He returned as a heel shortly before all that went down. So what do you guys think would have happened with Slaughter if there is no Iraqi angle? Its kind of perplexing to me because it seems like they were fully intending to push him as a top heel, Slaughter said on one of the documentaries that Hogan specifically wanted to work with him. The accuracy of his statement is debatable, but still. What would have happened?

Possibly as someone who thought that America had 'gone soft' and would berate the fans for embracing Nikolai Volkoff and the like?
He'd been an angry drill instructor previously, so it'd make sense to still have that surly edge about him.

He was quite a bump taker, even as he aged. I'm sure Hogan loved the idea of Sarge bumping around for him. I'm sure his return to the pissed-off D.I. was an option.

I definitely think Hogan wanted to work with him, but had this not happened, may have not been for the title, he could have more or less been in the role Earthquake filled. Hogan would have still wanted to fight Earthquake, though, it IS Hogan and all, but maybe he would have beat Warrior for the title, then, with Hogan beating him for it.
