I get that there's the "rivalry" between Raw and Smackdown, but I still think this was a poor choice of words from Foley to Zayn.
They've tried everything to make Smackdown relevant and on a similar level to Raw, and if someone like Stephanie had said it you could write it off as being heelish.
But this just echoed what the common opinion is; Smackdown doesn't matter, Raw is the main show and it's only guys who can't cut it on the "main" roster who go there (despite them having Cena, Orton, AJ and Dean).
It was just said so flippantly, it wasn't challenged or brought up again, hell it didn't even get booed.
So is this the common opinion again?

No its not common opinion, as along with myself, many consider Smackdown the better show.
Even in kayGabe, those small water fish beat the best Raw has to offer, without the almighty Cena, so it was just a salty remark from Mick.
Smackdown didn't even address the quip, cuz when you're in the lead, who cares lol

I honestly think it's always been more the fans than WWE who saw SmackDown as the "B" show. WWE wouldn't have made Undertaker exclusive to a "B" show for all those years during the brand split. SmackDown is only truly a "B" show when there's no brand split.

When someone on Raw says Smackdown sucks, I highly doubt fans are like "Y'know, they're right. Smackdown sucks"

When Mojo Rawley is on your brand, you suck.

New York Yankee fans opinions aren't swayed if Boston Red Sox fans call them The Evil Empire and Red Sox fans don't really care if Yankee fans call them an Evil Empire pretending to be a Underdog.

To be fair that was only Foley's line because he actually forgot to say "Great White in an empty butthole".

And while we're at it. Daniel Bryan making fun of The Universal Title's name is the worst of the on screen burials of the brand rivalry. Like damn dude you're insulting a World Championship you're trying to make as equally prestigious as the WWE Championship. Hell every time Mauro or JBL says "Welcome to SDL the only show where you can see the most prestigious title in the WWE" is a big burial. I actually two people who don't give a shit about any of the new titles and are a mark for lineage and only give a shit about The SD PPV's and no they rarely watch WWE TV but watch most of the PPV's as an excuse to hang out with friends.
One of the big reasons why the first brand split failed was the moment they started treating The WHC like if it was the IC Title by curtain jerking Mania's, never main eventing PPV's for the next two years, and them Super Raws. The Brandsplit worked initially when they actually started treating the WHC like if it was an equal title. The disrespect to the WHC championship while the belt being a lineage belt is still fresh on people's minds so they have there work really cut out to them to make a Universal Championship seem equally as important. And the work is really cut out for them with this awful start from the stupid name, to it's terrible All Red Design of the existing WWE Championship, Finn Balor in a month's debut is the first ever champion injured in the first championship match, and Kevin Owen's awful title reign.
They can't afford any more burials like that. So yeah this subject is kind of nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking it feels like. Like what else are they suppose to do. Constantly praise each other while one employee is threatening to jump ship? It's like if one valued employee at one company is threatening to leave to jump ship and the employer says "Go ahead they pay more and have better benefits."

That line was usually used for people being "fired" or people coming from TNA.

Raw and Smackdown both claim to be the dominant show. It made perfect sense.
Put the rivalry over. The other show can put itself over.

Brand rivalries will never work. Why do I need to support Raw or Smackdown when I can watch them both?

I mean, if New Day roll up to the arena Smackdown is in in a jeep (dressed like a unicorn...), I don't see it having the same effect as DX rolling up to the Norfolk Scope.

When I think of who has been a world champion in the WWE I now don't count Goldberg, Booker T, Great Khali, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Christian or Chris Benoit. Sucks for Christian and Henry but if it means excluding Dolph, Swagger. Khali and a murderer (and no I am not saying they are as bad as Benoit obviously) I will do it. AJ Styles is now WWE champion at last! But for me he is only half a world champion. Same with Kevin Owens. I want AJ to win the other belt in the future too. I won't count Balor or Owens as a world champion until they win the real world championship belt too.

To be fair, the only reasons the WHC was initially treated as equal to, or bigger than the WWEC, were 1. because it was on Raw and 2. because it was predominantly held by Triple H.
