And while we're at it. Daniel Bryan making fun of The Universal Title's name is the worst of the on screen burials of the brand rivalry. Like damn dude you're insulting a World Championship you're trying to make as equally prestigious as the WWE Championship. Hell every time Mauro or JBL says "Welcome to SDL the only show where you can see the most prestigious title in the WWE" is a big burial. I actually two people who don't give a shit about any of the new titles and are a mark for lineage and only give a shit about The SD PPV's and no they rarely watch WWE TV but watch most of the PPV's as an excuse to hang out with friends. One of the big reasons why the first brand split failed was the moment they started treating The WHC like if it was the IC Title by curtain jerking Mania's, never main eventing PPV's for the next two years, and them Super Raws. The Brandsplit worked initially when they actually started treating the WHC like if it was an equal title. The disrespect to the WHC championship while the belt being a lineage belt is still fresh on people's minds so they have there work really cut out to them to make a Universal Championship seem equally as important. And the work is really cut out for them with this awful start from the stupid name, to it's terrible All Red Design of the existing WWE Championship, Finn Balor in a month's debut is the first ever champion injured in the first championship match, and Kevin Owen's awful title reign.
They can't afford any more burials like that. So yeah this subject is kind of nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking it feels like. Like what else are they suppose to do. Constantly praise each other while one employee is threatening to jump ship? It's like if one valued employee at one company is threatening to leave to jump ship and the employer says "Go ahead they pay more and have better benefits."
True but kudos to HHH and The WWE for making it seem important and an equal belt from the start.
