I'm sure HHH would brush it off...not like others haven't buried him before (VKM in TNA) on television and shoots. But in a serious question, can the WWE go after them for allowing Helms to get dressed up as The Hurricane? I've heard that Helms owns the rights to the Hurricane costume and etc., but not the name (hence why he was never referred to by anyone as "the Hurricane" during last night). I don't know what Helms owns, but "The Hurricane" definitely belongs to WWE. Word Mark THE HURRICANE Goods and Services IC 041. US 100 101 107. The double thumbs up and smile was funny, but I thought the joke itself was outdated.

Some how, some way, I'd love to see HHH himself be a surprise guest in the next "Deletion" match/event.

There was a funny bit of irony in Matt mentioning creative control issues while on the show he booked and put over himself, his brother twice, and his baby son.

I think Broken Matt is something very interesting that could have some legs, but all the call outs and in jokes and jabs at the fourth wall take you out of it and make it feel kind of cheap and desperate. I know I'm supposed to be like OH SNAP HE BURNED TRIPS, but it just comes off to me as a cry for attention from someone who already has everyone else's attention.

I don't think you're supposed to be like OH SNAP at all. I just took at it as "Haha, HHH joke. Didn't expect that, was pretty funny. It's also funny because it's a joke specifically directed at a portion of the audience that usually doesn't get catered to. It's like a big self-aware afterparty." Especially given the cheesy thumbs up at the end. I didn't really see any cry for attention or anything like that to be honest.

I believe McDevitt's reply was "yeah, yeah... I'm on it already"
I doubt HHH wouldn't have cared about the joke, he's probably made worse/better jokes at his own expense in the last decade in similar fashion.

I'm not sure McDevitt can get Helms on this, honestly. He didn't even have the WWE-style "Hurricane" Logo on his gear, instead having "H2H" (or possibly "HSH" if I saw it wrong) on it.

Eh, Triple H will be a selfish performer until the day he retires from being an onscreen role, people are just more forgiving of it because he's there, putting his arms around indy darlings in selfies to bask in the popularity of others. Opinion will swing back the other way as we head toward the Rumble and he returns for his important Wrestlemania match and starts dominating Raw and cutting the same promos he cut 10 years ago, this time with short hair.
As for the dig, it is what it is, mildly amusing but not a huge OMG moment.

If you don't want people making jokes about you burying people, don't bury people.

probably an obscure reference even if you were if i'm honest. I don't know if I'm more impressed with myself that I remembered it, or ashamed that I remembered it while forgetting the names of my students.
