You know the times when you watching a game and see a player that is still around. What are some of the players that stick in your mind

Adam Vinatieri. He's been with the Colts almost as long, if not maybe longer than he was with the Patriots.
Only NFL player left from before I started watching (he debuted in 1996, I started in 1998)

Jaromir Jagr. He's been playing longer than at least 25% of the players in the NHL now have been alive.

It makes sense that guys like Vinatieri or Jagr are still around because they're still contributing and are among the best in their respective leagues. When I think of being baffled by active players, I think of guys like Ron Artest, who is inexplicably still in the NBA at age 37 after taking two seasons off to play in China and Italy and not being remotely above league-average since about 2012.

Every damn time. Every damn time. Every damn time. Every damn time. Every damn time. Every damn time. Every damn time. Every damn time.

I've said "holy shit, Vince Carter is still in the NBA?" every time I've seen him for like 5 years.

I was always surprised to see London Fletcher was still playing, just retiring three years ago.

Not so much that I can't believe they're still playing, but I can't believe people are willing to *pay* Bartolo Colon and Fernando Rodney to still play.

Colon is still pitching well, 3.43 ERA 1.21 WHIP and almost 200 innings pitched. His WAR was 3.4 Those are pretty good numbers for a middle aged fat guy

Just read that Julio Franco was still playing as recently as last year. That guy was 70 when the White Sox got him in 1994. (And he hit a home run when I saw them play the Indians at the new Jacobs Field.)
Jamie Moyer was another one.

Granted I am not the biggest basketball fan until after Xmas or spring, I an surprised that Richard Jefferson is still in the league, and got a ring last year.

I posted in the boxing forum before the fight, but Benard Hopkins fighting in 2016 is a head scratchier, and a bit sad seeing the outcome.

Is LaTroy Hawkins still pitching? I believe he broke Mike Morgan's record for most teams. Like Shaq, he's collecting uniforms the hard way. Be easier to go to the pro shop and buy one.
Edit: No, he retired last season.

Jaromir Jagr. He's been playing longer than at least 25% of the players in the NHL now have been alive. I still play NHL '96 every now and then...on the SEGA Genesis...and he was in his prime then...

I'll throw another log in the fire, Reggie Bush. I had to check wikipedia to make sure it was the same guy.

Tom Brady: The only active Patriot player who was playing with the team during it's 1st Superbowl and he's in the MVP conversation....at 39 years old.
Vince Carter: He'll be 40 in a month.
Jaromir Jagr: He played with guys who weren't even born when he was a rookie.
