No, but "so this is pretty good, not better than any Wrestlemania or anything, but watch it anyway" doesn't really sell the show.

Okay, I know everything has to be, "Shit on Josh," around here (and he deserves it a lot of the time), but the show sure as hell was better than Mania 25, 27, and 29. Poll says 'any', not, 'every'.

No never. This was good tv but never a major money raising event for a global company. Josh is just a lying and bitter bitch.
Ask the talent there if they'd rather work a backyard show or get a wm payoff

No, but "so this is pretty good, not better than any Wrestlemania or anything, but watch it anyway" doesn't really sell the show. True, but that's not a comparison any one was forcing on him. Josh could have easily said "best Impact of 2016" or "best Impact show I've ever been a part of", or even "better than anything you'll see on Monday or Tuesday" if TNA really needs to take a shot at the WWE. But saying better than any Wrestlemania he's ever been at or seen? That's writing a check that not even his buckets can cash.

Saying "it's better than any Wrestlemania I've been to" is basically the same as saying "It's better than every Wrestlemania I've been to"; it's saying that if you just picked a Wrestlemania in that range, it would be better than it. When it's comparative, "any" is an all-inclusive word.

You know those kids in high school that are every Nerd stereotype rolled into one? The ones with the giant horn rimmed glasses, acne and freckles all over their faces? Wears dentures and braces that cover their whole mouths, have numerous inhalers inside the pockets that they use hourly? Can barely lift up a tray and get knocked over if so much as a gust of wind picks up?
Not even they would be seen hanging out with him.

I think if you're going to be hyperbolic in the name of selling your product, go ahead and do it. Say it's "the best night of wrestling you'll see all year" or "we've saved the best of 2016 for last". But don't reach outside and into other products looking to take shots at them and try and sell your thing as being better than that. It doesn't make your product look compelling, it just makes you look like a sell-out tool with a hand up your ass.

Saying it doesn't matter which specific one you choose from that range it's better than.

Also going to quote myself from the twitter thread. Seems like we were wrong about Josh--he was just having FUN! FUN, he says! Also, Matt Hardy's kid apparently has a Twitter account. WTF. he is literally a Simpsons Joke.

There is ways to extend hyperbole without it being so dramatic and over the top as you said. Saying it was the "best impact show of 2016" is fair game. As much as TNA is a damaged brand in name their shows have been half decent for a while.

IN all fairness, I did enjoy it more than this year's Mania.
