This Reigns thing is just bizarre to me. It's not like this guy has any actual track record of drawing money and actually Raw's ratings have utterly cratered in the time that he has been pushed as a top singles guy. For all the talk of him being the next Diesel, it's not like Diesel was pushed constantly for THAT long of a time period. He won the title after Survivor Series 1994 and lost it at the 1995 Series. He was gone from the company entirely by May 1996. We're already about 2 years into the Reigns push and what has WWE gotten out of it? Honestly I think the main reason they won't just give it up with Reigns is because Triple H chose him and they think it'll make Triple H look bad having his first designated, "The guy," be a total flop.

It's the new strategy. If you can't elevate Roman to be greater than the rest of the roster, you bring the rest of the roster down to below Roman! AKA Royal Rumble 2015.

Why are they literally ruining other faces to help a character this is still not over as the face they want to be? Because they want Roman to be the new John Cena, and that's exactly how they booked Cena the last few years before his US title reign. Cena wasn't getting the reactions they wanted him to get, while other talents were receiving much better reactions. So every time, Cena was suddenly best friends with the more over talent until either Cena started getting cheered again, or until the other wrestler's heat wore off, at which point Cena buggered off to find a new heat source to leech off of. Zack Ryder. CM Punk. Ryback. Daniel Bryan. Heck, remember that one time John did the fist thing with The Shield? You know, the guys who debuted putting him through a table? His entire run from around 2012 to 2015 consisted of "Hey, you like this guy? Well, I like him too! So therefore, you should also like me!" As long as there's a face on the roster that's more over than Roman, that face is going to be used to get Roman over.

One could at least argue that Cena has natural babyface charisma in the ring. Reigns to me with his greasy hair, look and sneer just feels like a perfect power heel. The dilemma right now is that one could argue that the faces Cena either teamed with or feuded with were to some degree over. Rollins right now is not over as a face. So it's basically having a not over face leech off of someone who doesn't have the heat to leech off of, and it's creating a death spiral.

Live crowds should try to sing along with Reigns' Shield entrance theme like they did with "JOHN CENA SUUUUUCKS!"
It'd go like:
"Ro-man. Reigns-sucks. Ro-man. Reigns. Sucks. Ro-man. Reigns-sucks. Ro-man. Is a stupid idiot..." Etc.

Roman Reigns is the first wrestler to make me stop watching WWE programming. I won't watch RAW, I won't watch the RAW PPV's, and if it wasn't for SD being awesome Id be done with the product as a whole.
He's the dirt worst.

So it's basically having a not over face leech off of someone who doesn't have the heat to leech off of, and it's creating a death spiral. I think it would be way cooler if they had kept Rollins a smarmy heel, have Roman get screwed over and over and just say "f*** it, maybe he has a point" and turn heel and turn the two of them into a heel mini-Shield duo. We wouldn't have to worry about either floundering as a face, and the two of them as heels working together would make for much more interesting television. But I agree about Reigns being a perfect power heel. The dude would sky rocket as a bad guy, he would fit it like a hand to a glove and it would save his career. Think about pretty much any feud he's in and reverse the roles. Especially the Rusev feud. It'd make way more sense if Reigns was actually the heel he was acting like, and Rusev was the good guy defending his wife. But Rusev is super-foreign, so he can't be a good guy because it's the 80's still. This Reigns thing is just bizarre to me. It's not like this guy has any actual track record of drawing money and actually Raw's ratings have utterly cratered in the time that he has been pushed as a top singles guy. Ehhhhhhhh. To a degree. If you recall HHH wanted to turn Reigns heel last year, but Vince shot it down. At best, it's HHH created a monster, and the monster is now in control of an idiot, when the original creator has no control over him and hasn't for a long time.

Rollins was my favourite before his injury. I don't know if it's hanging out with Roman or the bad sparkle crotch face turn but hes just not the same anymore for some reason. To me, Rollins was kind of undone by what they wanted out of him coming back from his injury. Rollins' story should have been a natural babyface turn, where his injury made him realize that he didn't want to be the guy who was only champ because of The Authority's meddling. He's blunt about this fact to Stephanie, who accepts his decision, however Triple H still interferes and costs Seth the title. Instead they brought him back as a cocky tweener, who still says that he doesn't need the crowd's approval to win, and has Triple H seemingly hand the title to him on a silver platter, which thrills Seth, only for him to get stabbed in the back. Then his whole motivation is to accuse Steph of betrayal, even though she swears up and down that she had nothing to do with it (and the evidence suggests this is likely true), and he says that he'll burn down everything about Raw to get revenge? None of that says a sympathetic babyface to me, and that might be what they want, but I don't personally how that gets Rollins to the spot where you want to root for him to see him win.

Seth Rollins was one of my favorite guys leading up to last year. Then he came back this year and...wow. I have complete apathy towards him, though it's partly because of the stalling of the Triple H feud. The more they do this THE SHIELD MOMENT REMEMBER THIS stuff, the less impact the true Shield reunion is going to have. They have to let Roman loose, let him go heel, do his own thing, never ever ever do anything resembling THE SHIELD GUYS for a long awhile, and see if they can get him over that way. I know a lot of little kids like him, but little kids will basically like anything you position as cool and awesome. It's not a long-term strategy.

I was hoping this was going to be about Reigns making everyone do drag around him. It'd be the first time I was ever interested in a Reigns match.

Probably doesn't help that Roman is taking a page out of X-Pac's playbook. The Shield has been split for a long time now, but Reigns is still rocking the S.W.A.T. gear and similar theme. He was even still coming through the crowd.
Everybody moved on except Roman.

IDGAF, Roman is mah dude and WWE needs to strap him up with the red title instead of fat fat fatty Kevin Owens. Sorry I burst out laughting reading that. Hope I didn't wake up anybody in my block.

As goofy as it sounds, going into Roadblock I basically said the same thing to my brother, haha. Essentially that Owens's title run has been a flop and if WWE is hell bent on pushing Reigns, then just push him and put the main belt on him. This is why I find Raw's main event scene so disturbing. There is literally no decent direction to go in with the current roster. I guess when Balor gets back then can resume his push, but is there any guarantee that will work?
We all know that Rollins has tanked since his return from a character and booking standpoint. More troubling to me is that Rollins just doesn't seem like the same wrestler. Most of his matches with Owens have been "eh" at best. I'm not even really sure what it is. It's almost like he's stopped being as flashy as a face, which seems backwards.

Two things would really help.
1. TURN. HIM. HEEL. 2. Start using a Nash/Kane-style Side Slam as a transition move. And have DEM USO BOIS teach him how to do a Tequila Sunrise.
