I mean his babyface in ring work in 2012 was pretty dope barring the Del Rio awfulness. He lead Big Show to have a great match! The Big Show!

Shaemus is just too goofy looking to be a heel. Sure he is huge but muscles alone do not make someone look menacing (see Apollo Crews and Bobby Lashley), If there ever was a wrestler who NEEDED a lot of tattoos it is him.

When Mark Henry was in the middle of his Hall of Pain tear, and Sheamus came out among the terrified Smackdown roster and yelled "Hell, I'll fight 'im!", that was when I knew he should never be a heel. |

He's not a true babyface though. Sheamus is still the obnoxious dickhead. Just his loyalty is to his team with Cesaro. Same with Rollins, who is still a smug jockass but his new targets are slightly more assholish.

He works better in the ring as a face, but his character has always been better as a douchebag heel. That's what made his long face run so unbearable to a lot of people. They tried to play him off as a likeable jokester instead of a huge Irish asshole that loves to beat people up.

I was thinking the exact same thing watching their match on Sunday. The pops he's been getting lately remind me of when he turned face against Mark Henry back in 2011.
