If you read my thread about how much money does WWE get from sales of its games (http://officialfan.proboards.com/thread/552216/commisson-wwe-gets-sales), you would know why I stopped watching WWE.
Now for a XMas present, I was presented with the option with tickets to WM 33 or the Raw that takes place the following night. What should I do? Do you think I should give WWE another chance? I don't want to be naive and get stabbed by WWE when they say they care what their fans want but I don't want to be dumb by missing out on an opportunity to have fun. What do you guys think I should do? I don't want to do anything wrong and line WWE's pockets because of the reasons why I stopped watching.

I have stuck with wrestling for the past 17 years through some very hard times (Eddie Guerrero/Chris Benoit, etc) because for all of the bad, there are guys I legitimately like and want to see do well. There are still moments that make me happy to be a fan (Seth Rollins' return, Heath Slater's tag title run with Rhyno) and for all of the moments that I get cranky with the business, holds me in. But you have to be the one to decide, we're not going to tell you "You HAVE to like this thing". Either you do or you don't.
It's up to you to decide if you can tolerate the business, while being aware that it hasn't changed and probably won't for awhile-- Roman is still going to be pushed in a way that annoys a lot of people, guys who deserve to be used more probably won't be. We can't make this decision for you. I can't speak for Wrestlemania but Raw is usually at least interesting because they debut people and the crowd is usually still on fire from Wrestlemania. As for Wrestlemania itself, who knows, depends on how Royal Rumble shakes out really, but at least you'll get some Smackdown stuff on that side, which Smackdown has been leaps and bounds better than Raw for the last few months.
But as I said, it's your decision.

If you have some extra cash, take the WM tix, and buy Raw tix. Opportunity of a lifetime. Even for non wrestling fans.
Or go to Takeover.

It's up to you. You are the one that thinks WWE is an evil company that doesn't deserve your money. Not all of us feel that way.
Horribly written shows? Absolutely. Evil company that I refuse to support? Absolutely not.

Sorry, but if you feel so strongly about WWE being some evil Umbrella Corp that you don't want to give them money by buying a video game, robbing some life long fan of a seat at Wrestlemania seems awfully hypocritical.

I don't want to come across as an asshole, but here's the thing - WWE really aren't any different from any other corporation out there. If you limited where your money was spent to people who care more about their customers than they do their own interests then you'd never spend any money at all. If you wanted to keep your karma clean you'd be buying exclusively from the farmers' market and getting your entertainment from the local community theatre and street musicians... and even then you'd be lining the pockets of people who care less about their customers than they do themselves.
The very idea that any business has truly selfless, noble interests is naïve.
If you are determined not to financially support WWE in any way, then don't half ass it. Don't watch their shows, don't play their video games, don't listen to their iTunes releases, and don't go to 'Mania because you might be missing out on a fun weekend. Because at that point WWE has your money, and any stand you thought you might be taking would be rendered pointless.

Who presented you with this choice and did they not know of your opinions? My sister and mother did and no they didn't know of my opinions. After looking at these responses, maybe I have been wrong about my Choice to not watch WWE as much as I have been. I do realize that very few companies don't have criticism. I was also looking for advice here. I also apologize if I was being hypocritical. I didn't mean too. Thanks for the advice.

If you got that type of doe, go to Takeover/WM/RAW back-to-back-to-back
I mean look at all the talent currently under the WWE umbrella. Not the best stories, but the best roster of performers for sure

Don't waste your family's money if you're gonna be disappointed and miserable which I suspect you will be. No show is going to completely satisfy anyone.

Don't waste your family's money if you're gonna be disappointed and miserable which I suspect you will be. No show is going to completely satisfy anyone. What my main breaking point is or was them pushing Roman as their top face at the end of WM. That was the final straw. If he turned heel at the end, than that would be fine. There are other things that I can't remember at the moment but here are a few other ones. All the times they have insulted our intelligence and insulted Internet fans, made light of Ted turners dad's death, and the rumor that they punished wrestlers for getting over on their own after telling them they have to. Vince also said that today's wrestlers aren't as ambitious. Also, how about them I would mention all the other bad points but to be fair, they are just rumors. Now the reason why I didn't stop watching then was because I thought maybe they regretted what they did and maybe when they pushed someone the fans didn't want on top, I may have thought that they thought "maybe they will warm up to him and like him. If they don't after a period of time, we will stop pushing him." When they pushed Roman to win at WM 32, that is when I realized that they don't care about the fans. Than again, maybe I am overthinking this.

In a sense, you're totally right in that they don't give jack shit about fan opinions. BUT, on the other side of the spectrum, with a) the cream rising to the top in terms of talent b) the brand split create a light sense of unpredictability (styles, balor, and owens are getting top belts, goldberg/Lesnar 2, everything talking smack, etc.) I think it'd be worth at least hitting up mania imo. Get to have a blast with the fam, take in some good matches, and be outta there before raw screws the pooch on the whole weekend.

You guys can laugh all you want but I'm smart enough to not stick my neck out and claim that WWE won't stab him. I would never rule that out.

My sister used to watch WWE in the early 90s. I think she watches Total Divas and Total Bella's. If we go, I know she will ask me a lot of questions (especially if we went to the Raw after WM because you know the crowd will be rowdy.)
