In early 2007, Vito was still wearing a dress. He lost to Ken Kennedy. After the match, Ken takes the dress off of Vito revealing Vito's tights. Michael Cole: "That dress was an inspiration for Vito." Basically, he acted like That was Vito's only dress (past matches prove otherwise) and he also acted like Ken destroyed it. Only thing is that Ken took it off and I think stole it.
Since that is all that Ken did and that Vito had more dresses, how does that stop Vito from wearing dresses? I know that this part of Vito's career is not looked at fondly but I remember Vito loved it in real life even though he was told to wear it while working out at gyms (and I can only imagine what other people thought when they saw him and when he told them that he had to wear it because he's a wrestler and its part of his STRAIGHT character). I think he was also exempt from the dress code.

I don't have anything to add except when Smackdown came to town during this era they filmed a spot of Vito out shopping for dresses at a K-Mart if I'm remembering correctly.
Only the best for Vito.

Have to admit, as much as people like to poke fun at his dress gimmick, the fact that he was a crossdresser but also portrayed as a serious ass kicker was surprisingly progressive from an otherwise very politically incorrect era in wrestling.

Well, except for the fact his finisher involved him teabagging his opponent.

I always remember seeing guys actually wore dresses to Smackdown at this time. To be fair, he actually got really over during this time as well.

I wish they had cut the weird sexual harassment bits from the character, because it would have been really cool if they did. Just this dude who kills everyone and also happens to wear majestic, free-flowing dresses. Money, dammit.

It was a surprisingly fun gimmick. Didn't he have quite a long undefeated streak with it too?

I forget if he acted any differently with it.

The early 1999 WCW tag scene was the best part of their year, really underrated.

I think it was due to a 'gay mobster' storyline that the Sopranos were doing at the time. I know cross dressing and homosexuality are different but it must have inspired the writers.

Though it's also yet another idea they stole lock, stock, and barrel from WCW. Perry Saturn did that gimmick in 1999 WCW where he was first forced to wear the dress, then kept wearing it long after he was supposed to and even adding makeup and stuff. If anyone ever made fun of him or tried to pull up his dress, they'd get the shit beat out of them.
