Doesn't surprise me that they're flying by the seat of their pants at WB. Watching BvS made me think "So,what was this movie supposed to be? A detective mystery? A political thriller? A courtroom drama? The story of a doomed romance? An espionage film? A rivarly movie? Or, was it a universe-building epic?" I had those questions even after watching the extended version twice. There's zero vision for where this universe is supposed to go. Why are you so hung up on YOUR version of the heroes?! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THEM BEING DECONSTRUCTED!

Ben, this is what you've got to do. Bear with me, OK? Warner Brothers, you must read this too. Ready? Alright.
The movie should be filmed with a camera that doesn't shake or move unnecessarily. Edits and cuts should only be made when required, rather than every two seconds. Colours should be featured in the film, particularly red, blue, green, purple, yellow and orange, along with white, black, grey and brown. The cinematography should be include lighting, so the audience can see what is taking place on screen.
As for the story, a villain should have a plan. He/she wants to do something bad in Gotham City, and Batman has to stop them. In the course of the film, Batman uses various gadgets and vehicles. During the film, other characters like Alfred and Commissioner Gordon should appear, doing things that support/mentor/ally characters usually do.
Batman eventually emerges victorious and ends the movie standing on a rooftop with the Batsignal shining in the sky. The credits then appear telling the audience who made the movie.
Now, before you do any of this, you have to sit down at a table and write it down in some sort of document. The document should include the plot of the film and what everyone in it will say. Redraft it a few times so everything makes logical sense and doesn't defy basic storytelling. When it's all done, you give it a name like "Batman Prevails" or something and you release it.

Can't it be something like
"Batman has annoyed the crime families of Gotham & the heads such as Black Mask & Penguin hire Deathstroke to kill him"

Can WB just admit that DCU calender means absolutely nothing... I don't believe any of their release dates, unless a film is actively filming.
I hate to sound like a fanboy but Marvel's only changes have been a title change to Avengers 4, and changing Inhumans from a film to an ABC/IMAX series.

To be fair Marvel has moved a few movies around. Spider-man homecoming shifted their schedules forward... then something else (Ant-man and Wasp maybe) shifted it a second time... Captain Marvel and Black Panther are the main ones effected... BP was moved back twice and Captain was moved back once and then later moved forward.

To put a more positive spin on this article, it sounds like Affleck doesn't want to do a half-assed rush-job of a movie. Which I'm fully on board with that mentality.

I'd really be happy if we got a Batman movie with Terry McGuiness and Old Man Bruce. Let's play with other parts of the Batman franchise for a change, instead of falling back on the Frank Miller stuff so much. This is why I can't wait for Lego Batman. Terry is a character who would really capture that younger audience they're always craving, too. A movie like that could look like Blade Runner while having the fun factor of Spider-Man. Throw in a techno-rock soundtrack and it's almost a recipe for more success than DC's had thus far. Sounds shway to me.

Yeah I forget about that's but was at least adding a movie, who knows what's DCs calender looks like amymore. I would bet a dollar Flash is the only movie they have come out in 2018.

Whut? He's won awards for Good Will Hunting and Argo, but how does that clearly translate into him being able to make a cool Batman movie? Because he didn't make Sucker Punch. Also The Town is a f***ing cool movie.

The sad thing for me too is that they developed a pretty interesting Batman in Dawn of Justice. Like, if they hadn't of said that he'd been doing it for 20 years and he's only been Batman since the attack on Metropolis, I doubt it'd be a huge issue writing a solo story.

It turned out that it wasn't Black Mask but the Joker who had stolen the Black Mask's er... mask. Arkham Origins is kind of fascinating in how in terms of its presentation and actual writing it has the best plot of the Arkham games, but in terms of the actual sequence of events it's dumb as hell. Why does Bane want to kill Batman? Who knows! Why does a heavily armored Electrocutioner die from a fall that Batman and Joker take together almost immediately after only to be perfectly fine from? Because they're important! Why doesn't Copperhead just kill Batman when he's barely able to stand up instead of giving him the chance to fight back? Because he's Batman and is supposed to win! Why does Bane randomly forget who Batman was and pretty much nothing else? Because it didn't play into plans for Arkham Knight! Why does Joker leave Black Mask alive after having him captured for days? Because he was in Arkham City! How has Joker been passing as Black Mask for weeks when he's only had him captured for like three days? It's the Joker, he can do whatever the hell he wants!

He's a very competent director. And the last few years he's picked his projects pretty carefully. In the Hollywood hierarchy he's seen by most at the top. Because he didn't make Sucker Punch. Also The Town is a f***ing cool movie. Oh, don't get me wrong, I think the movies he's directed have been fine, but very far from the super-hero genre, and that's why I made the comment I did. Just because you're good at some genres of movies doesn't mean you are at others. *Shrug*

Hell sometimes it feels like the MCU is just picking directors names out of a hat for there movies and yet it's working. At least in the case of Ben Affleck he has directed a bunch of action and suspenseful sequences already. Hell with The Town he already directed bunch of people wearing colorful costumes and masks performing bank robberies kind of like the opening heist in The Dark Knight.

DC's approach has been so damn confusing & they managed to blow what should have been an easy layup.
If we do get a solo Bat movie, make Black Mask the main villain. He'd be a nice starting point before you get to the main eventers in the rogues gallery.

Bring the Catwoman dynamic into it as well
