Morgan was always generally "eh" for me watching him. He's an okay talker, and as a tall guy he's more technically sound than, say, Psycho Sid, but he doesn't have anywhere near the level of Sid's charisma.

He was a giant version of the bog standard WWE developmental guy, cut from the same cloth as René Duprée, Sylvain Grenier, Ken Dykstra and so on, only they used more of said cloth.

I maintain that Matt Morgan SHOULD have worked, but poor booking followed the guy around like crazy. Yeah, the poor dude had so many start/stop pushes....he would have the rug pulled out from under him every time he started to get over, and after a while, the fans kind of tired of it, and him.

He lacked that Je ne sais quoi to actually make it, he had a great look and was a decent promo and big man but you are screwed if you just lack that xfactor that cannot be taught.

Because he was a good worker, talker, had a good look to him, and got over with the fans. By the time, they finally got around to wanting to put the TNA Championship on him in 2011, he got injured. His theme "Sleeping Giant" by 10 Fold is also a good workout song.

Why wouldn't they push a big dude that can talk and is charismatic. He may not have been a workrate maniac but just look it's 2017 and the biggest company in the World is pushing a dude in Brawn Strowman who even has less to offer.
I thought when they gave Morgan the ball and he was in the MEM storyline, he did not drop it. He had good matches against Sting, Angle, AJ. He was also funny in a couple of places like when he was tag team champ in solo saying "we" all the time.
I mean I've seen guys with far less having success.

This is what Jim Cornette actually believes: Still, BY FAR, not as bad as Shane's.
