I remember when a good portion of the IWC and most dirt sheets had Kennedy penciled in as his son but he got hurt.

why did sandman stay in the ring so long Sandman himself said that he got knocked loopy during his match earlier in the night and missed his cue to leave, which was supposed to be "your son is not extreme". But technically, he was a member of RAW at the time. I heard an interview with someone recently (I can't remember who) and he said Sandman stayed because he thought he fit in with all the clues, which he did! Sandman says he left when he did because he just assumed that must have been his cue ("your son likes to play games"). I remember at the time thinking it was a cool choice to have because Sandman was weirdly popular, he was an unlikely choice, and he had been in the final two during the battle royal to appoint a new RAW GM weeks earlier (so I assumed it was a play on that). Instead, he was supposed to have been eliminated much earlier, and the final two were intended to be JBL or HHH which is much lamer. Sandman ended up getting fired a few days later so I wonder if this played a part? And they tried to imply HHH is his son Vince was desperate to get that incest in somewhere!! I remember when a good portion of the IWC and most dirt sheets had Kennedy penciled in as his son but he got hurt. I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed it was to be Kennedy.

Probably my angriest point as a wrestling fan. This could have been the greatest angle of all time...and then Hornswoggle. To say that I hated that guy would be an understatement

Should have been John Cena.
The twist being McMahon knew it all along. He wanted his own flesh and blood to dominate the industry so found a genetically superior woman to procreate with. This union produced Cena.
Explains why Cena wins lol, his near immediate stardom and a lot of other things.

I remember the pop from the audience at the peak of the angle when Vince looked at Kennedy.
Fans at the time wanted it to be Kennedy so bad and had he not gotten suspended/remained healthy he would've been huge with this angle.

Considering they tried to do the reveal for it in Green Bay, the pop would have been insane.

In retrospect, it being Kennedy could have very well been a bigger bust than the gag reveal of Hornswoggle. Kennedy was fools gold. I was completely fooled by the guy for a long time. In small doses he was so awesome. But he quickly fell apart when he was expected to go wrestle a solo match against a good opponent.
I should take a little of that back, he has had good matches. He just has no consistency. You can't rely on him going out there and closing the show with a good match. That's a vital skill to have if you are going to be a main eventer.

I prefer not remember it, thank you. Though it did initially give us one of the best photoshop threads ever.

I hate how they wasted it on a "comedy" angle when it could've been a great chance for a young/unused guy to get a solid push. And come on, it's Vince; the guy seems to have a libido that puts Austin Powers to shame.

And come on, it's Vince; the guy seems to have a libido that puts Austin Powers to shame. Back when it was still an active angle I pitched an idea that borrowed heavily from the wacky "Wilt Chamberlain Theory". Basically, Wilt (or Vince) slept with so many people that his DNA is theoretically in like half of all current NBA players. Of course with it being Vince, I wanted it to be that ALL wrestlers in the WWE ended up being related to him. Even old guys like Flair and Lawler, because he's Vince McMahon dammit! Space-Time is only a suggestion to him.
