CHIKARA seems to be eliminating all long distance talent. I can't say I'm that surprised for that reason but it still sucks.

CHIKARA is giving me A LOT of reasons to jump ship at this point, between the massive talent evacuation, the secret season that's going to be going on DURING the actual season, and everything being so jumbled and basically almost nothing to latch onto... I'm still feeling it out but Thunderfrog was such a crutch to their talent pool, now he's just GONE too. This is really starting to blow.

Happily Ever After preview...
"The peculiar relationship between Lucas Calhoun and Jeremy Leary takes its most bizarre turn yet, not just in the ring, but in the street! Travis Huckabee teams up with Solo Darling in an effort to balance their shared ledger, while UltraMantis Black steers his path of destruction in a new direction. A stellar main event sees Juan Francisco de Coronado take Missile Assault Man to the limit! ARRIVES ON CHIKARATOPIA 3.5.17"

The obvious end to the Calhoun/Leary feud should be hair vs hair but that clearly didn't happen

I'm still feeling it out but Thunderfrog was such a crutch to their talent pool, now he's just GONE too. This is really starting to blow. I'm far from being up to date on Chikara (as matter of fact, I just finished the King of Trios 2016 week-end, so I'm kind of baffled to learn DeFarge & Crummels are now CdP, since their Tag Gauntlet participation was a botchfest), but between all the departures & the over-convoluted not-really-bingeable secret season stuff, I don't see how Quack can expect the current product to appeal to non-hardcores...

Is there any damn reason at all why that team isn't called The Chuck Taylor All Stars?

CHIKARA is giving me A LOT of reasons to jump ship at this point, between the massive talent evacuation, the secret season that's going to be going on DURING the actual season, and everything being so jumbled and basically almost nothing to latch onto... I'm still feeling it out but Thunderfrog was such a crutch to their talent pool, now he's just GONE too. This is really starting to blow. CHIKARA has changed a lot lately. They seem happy with appearing to be a gateway to WWE and running their promotion more like a cross between CHIKARA and NXT. There is a lot more focus on their students now. Quack mentioned having sixty students recently. That's not a bad income at 2,500 bucks a pop. That doesn't count all the dropouts either. You don't get a refund if you decide to quit. A lot of dreamers are showing up there and they're showing up with a lot more cash than their usual fans. Add to that their income from Topia which they seem to be pushing harder and harder all the time. I know there are some fans that like to beat their chest and say Quack never made a dime and he's not about money. When you look at the focus on school, Topia and all the departures due to cutbacks it's not so much that way now whatever you want to believe. That's not a bad thing. Everyone should be making money for their jobs. Some creativity is still there. They're still trying new things. However the presentation of the promotion looks like it's taken quite a step down compared to recent years and that could be due to the focus on those things. I think the Challenge of the Immortals season suffered creatively because there was so much focus on Topia at the time. People can tell you several matches they enjoyed from the 12 Large tournament but you usually only hear about the finals when people talk about Challenge of the Immortals. Things have been somewhat different since CHIKARA returned. Now it's looking a whole lot more different. How it will appeal to the average wrestling fan or even their hardcore fans isn't exactly looking promising. It's looking risky but that's just my opinion.

Is there any damn reason at all why that team isn't called The Chuck Taylor All Stars? Presumably, they don't wanna get sued.
