The Marcy Rhodes/Darcy character, How well off was she? They are always cracking jokes that she had more money than the Bundys. Hell Jefferson even married her for money. But she lives next door to the Bundys, I mean if the Bundys can afford to live in that neighborhood. How much better off then them can she be?

I currently live in one of the richest neighborhoods in my city. My rent is also considered cheaper then average. I literally live right behind a house that is listed for a million dollars and a couple of others. It's the quality of the house as well.

She obviously quite well off, with BMWs, Mercedes, and many other luxury items. They were several episodes where she was gonna get even more money and move but Al would always ruin it. Also, Jefferson became her "Peg" and was always spending her money.

She was loaded; she just couldn't move as any prospective buyers were put off by the Bundys!

I do remember seeing into her house a few times and it was the same layout as Al's and didn't seem to have many super nice items. I just think it's funny that a shoe salesman with 2 kids and an out of work wife can afford to live next to a successful banker.

I believe Marcy is living comfortably but is not as rich as she claims. I believe she only makes these claims to rub it into Al.

One of them was in the shop since the day they bought it.

I think the Bundys won a sports car on the game show, but I only remember seeing one other time (Memorial Day episode)

There was one episode where the Bundys and the Rhoades went to the beach, not together Steve hit someone and gave them the Bundy's address to play poor. But anyway he and Marcy left $100 with the Bundy's to pay the man he hit while they went to the beach. So Al being Al decides to take the money and take the Bundy's to the beach and leave a letter in the note where to find Steve. So anyway later at the beach a lifeguard comes to inform Steve his "Mercedes" has been totalled. I can only imagine if Steve had a Mercedes that Marcy would have something similar.

I think the Bundys won a sports car on the game show, but I only remember seeing one other time (Memorial Day episode) Al was supposed to get a Viper from Dodge after the Dodge rolled over to 0. Only condition was Dodge wanted to film it. The Dodge wound up rolling out of the garage and he got nothing. So he took off across country to rack up another million miles.

Especially in big cities rent can vary incredibly within any given neighborhood or even more so if buildings are at the very edge of a neighborhood. The edge thing sounds like something that would just apply to a few people, but it probably pertains to more than one would think at first glance. I have firsthand experience of it as someone who used to live in Harlem. Just move a few feet to the Upper West Side and watch your rent magically double.
