The third hour of death has been a thing for a long time, but this kind of drop has to wake someone up. It has to. Steady for the first two hours, and then hundreds of thousands of people run for the hills.

Find something USA can put on Monday night for less than the cost of 1 extra hour of raw that gets at least 2.5 million viewers.

I'm surprised they kept that many for Reigns/Owens/Jericho Part 942 when they could have been watching the excellent Alabama/Clemson game instead.

The WWE could air one hour of Roman Reigns saying the word "succotash" on a loop from 10-11 and it would get 3 million viewers. The WWE is fine.

That's not a good justification though. WWE should have a show so awesome that no one gives a shit about flipping to the football game on another channel.

WWE will have another week, there is only one College Football Playoff Championship game though. It is like saying RAW should take down the Super Bowl. Once in a lifetime (especially when dealing with college) vs. once a week, you will not be special enough to overcome that.

While I see your point, for some people there seems to be some excuse every week.

That's true, but it seems that every week there is a game people use as the reason for a low rating. I see your point, but "there was something better/more important a on" is not a good excuse for low ratings. They should make Raw so f***ing good that people don't want to watch something else. "Oh, the CFP is tonight? I'll check out the score later, I can't wait to see what happens on Raw this week" should be the sentiment amongst their audience.

Again, there is a difference between something else being on and an once in a lifetime event. I can catch a replay of RAW or the DVR'd it or just wait until next week, you get one shot at this football game. Should you want your audience to say think about sticking to RAW first, absolutely but realistic. We're not talking about FOX News or SpongeBob or Love and Hip Hop or Curse of Oak Island or Pawn Stars this week, we're talking about a once in a lifetime type event. RAW will never be that and will never have that pull. This isn't an event better booking can overcome, you cannot throw Brock, Rock, Goldberg, Austin, Hogan, Cena, Batista, or any one else out there and make RAW a bigger, more must see event than the CFP game. Any other week, yeah but not this one.

Raw has been spinning it's wheels for a long time. If you miss RAW one week do you really miss anything ?
I mean The Undertaker came back and said "BOO!" but.. meh
The show won't be much different me t week and we'll see a half dozen replays of Undertaker announcing he's in the rumble.
And in two weeks we'll end the show with most of the roster battling it out in the ring pre rumble.
