Sorry but if Elway ain't top 5, he is easily number 6. You don't put up the numbers he did for his career, carry your team to 3 SB (loses) and then end with 2 SB wins and an MVP and just be good. Hell, only one other has done it better and he is still looking to extend his records. The Elway hate here is really bizare. He belong in any argument for best ever and there is no sane argument against him. Devestating lose for the Chiefs. My Superbowl prediction now is Patriots over Falcons. Sure there is, compare his numbers, even to his contemporaries. That's even if you ignore his atrocious Super Bowl embarassments.

Terrell Davis carried them to 2 Super Bowls, Elway carried them through a weak AFC to embarrassing Super Bowl performances where he threw INTs, got sacked and laughed at. Davis was a league MVP, Shannon Sharpe is a top 5 TE ever, Rod Smith is a borderline HOFer. Those teams that got over the hump were stacked. You can't give all that credit to Elway.

You know, match up wise....New England is better than Pittsburgh. However, I have to remember this is the playoffs and the way Pittsburgh has played in the two games, they may be able to beat New England. Still, my pick is New England vs. Green Bay at the Super Bowl. Atlanta will be a tough one, I grant, but I think that is the game we get as well. Green Bay, we've come this far. Just a little further now....

The Patriots can no longer keep dodging the good QB's this year.
They'll have to go through Big Ben and one of Ryan/Rodgers.
No more Osweillers and Fitzpatricks.

I hardly hate Elway. I don't think the other poster does either. But compare that guy's numbers to other QBs in the early 90's and he's hardly in an argument for best QB of that era, let alone the best ever.

Honestly, I just want Packers/Pats so the sports media can finally end this infinitely long 5 year debate of Brady/Rodgers "Who's better right now?"
I want it to finally just be settled so we can go back to more "Lebron vs. Jordan" debates.

Seriously, have the Steelers ever beaten Brady in the playoffs? Ever?

Seriously, have the Steelers ever beaten Brady in the playoffs? Ever? No, but they haven't faced each other in the postseason frequently ala Brady/Manning. 2004 AFC-CG 2001 AFC-CG, a game Brady got hurt in and Bledsoe finished up

Yeah, when the team finally built for it, they won. I never denied that (and I say for me since that is against my point and not his). Before those 3 years, that team lived and died on Elway. This crazed view that because certain numbers don't reach the level of others so he sucks is grade A bullshit. At the end of the day Elway is one of the most successful QBs in NFL history and you do not get there without being great. Can someone else get there? Absolutely, Rodgers should be there but great example of what I am talking about. He has put that team, with bad coaching and weak rosters on his back but he only got there once (won though). Manning was on incomplete teams for years, got embarrassed in the SB, except when he had compete teams but to deny how great Manning was is insanity. If you can put a team on your back and carry them to continued success, you don't suck, you are not just good. That takes greatness.

The Packers can't run, can't play pass defense, have a bozo of a coach, and a terrible defensive coordinators.
And they're in the NFC Title game.
This team is literally a one-man gang.
They are Rodgers or bust.
I don't know if someone like Dak or Carr could propel this team this far.
They are like the Elway/Reeves Broncos- not a lot of super-duper talent, but never count them out as long as #12- for better or for worse, and GOD he annoys me- keeps doing what he does.

Multiple suspensions, lies, fines, scandals, etc. Vs. Douchey QB, douchey linebackers coach, uhhhhh... Yeah, Pittsburgh is evil. 😑

Whole organization is full of hoes as far as I'm concerned. Tell Mike Tomlin to put some chap stick on and stop looking Tyrone Biggums.

That's the only bullshit here. When you're talking about the best QBs of all time, you cannot completely ignore above average numbers when everybody else put up above that. The Packers went as Favre went, the Dolphins went as far as Marino would take them. Elway wasn't the only guy who had to deal with so-so to bad supporting casts.

Outclassed, not in their league and first decade of his career (which is the majority by far) was crap. Sorry the word "sucks" wasn't expressly used. I stand by my point 100%. Elway did what one other has better and I stand by that making him one of the greats.

That's not an insult, you don't have to come running to his defense over an attack that never happened. You could make a similar argument for Roger Staubach, but I don't think anyone is trying.

All my friends here in Kansas City will be depressed tomorrow. Meanwhile I'll be rocking my Pats hoodie, I should feel bad but after 2 years of jokes.... Nah I don't feel bad at all.

Was today's Cowboys loss more or less hard to swallow than the Giants game 10 years ago?
There were a few similarities: 13-3 #1 seed, beat by a 10-6 team.
