You know Sandow, if you can't get over in f***ing TNA of all places maybe you should just retire.
This is a career killing gimmick.

Every thing about Rex is 2003. His wrestling style, his promos, and now his gimmick.

Every thing about Rex is 2003. His wrestling style, his promos, and now his gimmick. He is the prototypical OVW wrestler. He should be wrestling Alabama Doink in front of a closed down Winn Dixie in rural Alabama.

Literally a low hanging fruit gimmick. He is doing a 70's/80's sitcom stereotypical gay guy. Like he watched videos of Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly & decided that was too butch for his character idea. Watch TNA try to sell this to GLAAD as a groundbreaking character like they did with Orlando Jordan. Like every bad gay trope is on display. Wears women makeup. Dances like Liberace. Has a manservant. Talks with a lisp. Limp wisted. Effeminate. Before long, he will sexually harass to his male opponents and be a sexual predator. This is one of the gimmicks done on a shindy along with the obese dude who considers himself sexy and the skinny Hot Topic goth. Yeah, I was just thinking about that today at work. We all remember how GLAAD reacted to the Billy & Chuck wedding. Well, wait till they get a load of this. I imagine it going something like this: GLAAD member: "TNA wrestling, or whatever it's called, is doing a bad gay stereotype character." GLAAD president: *after watching and researching TNA* "Just...just let them go. They're going down in flames on their own."

Watching this all I could think was of a line from a "Kids in The Hall" episode; "Bad 1950s gay stereotype." Now I want Buddy Cole to be TNA's color commentator

So it's Liberace without any subtlety?

I thought when Sandow left he been one of those prove everyone wrong talents but he been nothing but the shits. I feel I was way wrong about him and he was getting so much praise when he was released. Seriously, he has to be one of the fastest "The WWE wasted him" to ... "ok... maybe the WWE was right not to push him" turn arounds I've ever seen... I used to say that about Ken Anderson but then I saw Damien Sandow in TNA.

A grown man wearing lipstick and nude tights is paired with his man servant. You type some shit like that in your search bar and without erasing your history and that can send you to jail. Aron Rex, what the f*** is wrong with you? When you pitched this gimmick to WWE I'm pretty sure they thought you were clinically insane and was never going to trust giving you a push again. It comes off as a dude that wants to be Dalton Castle or The Genius but isn't subtle enough to pull it off at all. The main difference between a gimmick like this and Dalton Castle is that Dalton is merely influenced by Freddie Mercury, but is making it his own character. Rex on the other hand basically looks like he saw a picture of Liberace and his chauffeur, put on a stereotypical gay lisp and decided to just leave it like that. While having similar gimmicks in different companies isn't a new thing, and is really pretty common, to me.... Dalton Castle is so good at his gimmick there's no room for anyone else with this gimmick as long as he's doing it because it's not like anyone will be able to do a similar gimmick better than him. At the same time, it's kinda strange... you have Aron Rex who took the "Intellectual Savior Of The Masses" and turned it to gold, he took the stunt double thing and made it absolutely frickin' amazing... just dumb gimmicks that ended up being really entertaining and when he gets a chance to just walk out and get over on his own merits he turns to shit and decides, "ANDROGYNY!!!! THAT'S THE TICKET!" Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes took every dumb gimmick he was saddled with and made it watchable, if not entertaining, now he's on the road as himself and his star has never been bigger. It's the difference between true, god-given talent.. and someone who just had a few lucky breaks.

The look on Spud's face is the look of a man who has lost the last shred of his dignity. Then again, he does work in TNA, so it couldn't have been much there to begin with.

By the time the next round of tapings happen, Rex will have brought in his new muscle: the Christopher Street Connection.

Can we just get rid of Sandow and hire Angel the Hardcore Homo? Idc if his gimmick was offensive, that was comedy gold in XPW that I think could work in TNA.

I have one question: Why did they show Rex looking at all his rings before the break, pick one of them, and come out wearing all of them.
That confused me more than anything else about that segment.

I hate Patrick Clark's Prince gimmick and think there is nothing Prince-like in any corner of it, but holy f*** is it still a whole lot more accurate than this nonsense is to Liberace. I finally caught a clip and listened to it, and it's f***ing appalling.
