easy enough, which one of the guys did you like the best and why? For me, it was John Cleese, pure comedy gold.

Always had a soft spot for Michael Palin.

It's a Sophie's Choice as all of them are brilliant, but my first reflex said Cleese.

Michael Palin
He's officially the nicest man in the world and his travel programmes were excellent (especially Around the world in 80 days & Pole to Pole)

For me, it's always a dead heat between Idle and Palin.

In the context of Monty Python? That's a toughie, as they were all bloody brilliant and did very little solo sketches that I can remember. That said, two of my favoutite bits are The Fish Slapping Dance and the first half of Gumby Brain Specialist, both of which feature John Cleese and Michael Palin, making it really hard to choose between the two. No to mention it's them in the Dead Parrot sketch, too. So, John Cleese and Michael Palin it is. Outside of Python? Well, Eric Idle voiced Rincewind in both Discworld games, so I'm giving the edge to him there.

Oh god, this is a difficult choice. Eric Idle was the first to jump to mind, if nothing else for my nostalgia for the Galaxy Song, which my parents would play for me as a kid, skipping past the whole liver-removing scene beforehand.
But the more I think about it, Graham Chapman was so versatile, capable of playing the straight man (well, dramatically speaking) but also portraying the Pythons' most eccentric characters.

Based on just Python? Dead heat between Palin and Cleese. Their performances always got the biggest laughs from me.
Post-Python? Cleese by a country mile. The guy is hysterically funny in just about everything, even if the show or movie he's starring in is dogshit.
