Season One as well, I had no idea what I was getting into when I first watched it. Thought it was a goofy adult cartoon that I put on with friends to watch before going out, 6 hours later we're having existential crises after finishing the show in one sitting.

A very tough call, but I gotta go with Season Two. Season One was the season that hooked me, no doubt, but Season Two was the one where the show truly took off.

Season 1 was a fun ride that had more depth than you ever expected. Season 2 was a small step down. Season 3 was too depressing for my taste. I don't know if I can do a 4th season. He's so self-destructive and it hits a little close.

Season Two gets deeper and Season Three has better individual episodes, but the twist in the tone of Season One can't be replicated.

I haven't gave Season 3 a second viewing yet. So I'm going to say Season 2 by default. But I have a feeling it'll be season 3.

It was a better show, but I thoroughly enjoyed season 1 more. It's like the newer South Park seasons in that being funny has kinda fallen to the wayside in favor of an improved product. Which, creatively, I don't mind at all. But like you alluded to, season 1 had more flexibility. It did both sides of the coin really, really well.

I'll go with 2. In all honesty, I think season 3 is the "best" season in terms of hitting on all cylinders, but for some reason 2 stuck with me the most as a personal favorite.

It's a while since I've seen them but I love them all. Which season is the one where he almost sleeps with his ex girlfriends daughter, and is that the same season with Mr. Peanutbutter's gameshow? If it is, that season haha.

Season 2 over Season 3 by a bit. I think the gut punch in Season 2 was stronger then the one in Season 3. Though I could see it being the set up for next season and Bojack falling completely apart.

They have all equally hit an emotional note that no other animated comedy has yet to achieve.
