Would Christian Bale on the Terminator Salvation set count? It was a very "I'm an artist, you're a plebe" rant. Nope. Have been on set, after the 5th straight 14 hour day doing the same scene from the 56th different angle, with the slightest background mistake forcing you to start all over, tensions run a little high. And the crew guy seemed ok with him after. Compare to Lauren Graham, mom from Gilmore Girls, getting extras fired if they made eye contact with her when the cameras weren't rolling.

Crispin Glover for Back to the Future II; when he was asked to return for the sequel he wanted top billing and a ridiculous amount of money. The studio and Robert Zemeckis both balked at this, hence he was replaced in the sequel. That wasn't really him being a diva. He didn't want to come back and do another one, so he made ridiculous demands that he knew would get him off the hook. Basically like getting fired on purpose.

Hell, I tried getting fired from a job once, and ended up getting an award for best employee. True story.

Fair enough, I've never heard that version, although he's meant to be quite eccentric at the best of times. Robert Zemeckis told a story of how Crispin Glover had an idea for the scene in BTTF where Marty discovers he writes sci-fi. Every time the camera cut to Glover his hair would be standing on end, but in a different style each time. Even though it made zero sense to everyone else, Crispin Glover was adamant that it was just what the scene needed.

I've always imagined Hollywood being such a shark-pit it would make wrestlers blush. And unlike wrestling, burnt bridges often stay burnt so there's less speaking out about it. Kevin Smith once described Hollywood as a place where people get rejected over and over and over for years, get a big break, and then have all of Hollywood falling at their feet, at which point a lot of them just go nuts and refuse to accept the word "no" for anything.
