Man, I swear this team is going to send me to an early grave. (Well that and my all McDonald's diet) Ditto. Incidentally, which one of the 3 Big Macs fits this situation? Also, I do feel bad for the Atlanta people. They don't deserve this. Though none of the fanbases do really (though if it were the Giants in this situation, I'd be schadenfreudeing like crazy. )

Biggest choke in sports history. The Falcons can kick rocks as far as I am concerned. It's not even the biggest choke in NFL playoff history. That honor still belongs to the Houston Oilers.

I know score-wise, that is true. But considering the Falcons were less than less than 2 minutes away from winning the champions and giving the city Atlanta its second pro championship ever, I think this one may sting worse than the Houston one.

But this was the SUPER BOWL. Biggest deficit overcome for 50+ games was 10. This was 25 halfway through the 3rd, holy hell.

It stings way worse. They were up 28-3 in the Third Quarter. Everyone was congratulating them and making the memes and overall were happy for them. For them to blow it that historically, I don't think I've seen a blowup this worse than Buckner in the World Series. The Cubs/Bartman fiasco was bad, The 3-1 Destruction of Golden State and The Cleveland Indians were bad... but there were other games to be played, all Atlanta had to do was cruise to victory, and they capsized... and it will go down as one of the most historically caught L's in the history of sports...

And that is why I am offering the hug to any Falcons fan because of how bad it is. I'm sure some young Falcons fans went to sleep thinking they won, and the next morning will be hell. They will need those hugs tomorrow.

Even those who hate Jim Cornette the most would agree he's right about this guy... This is another great reason to hate the Patriots.

I knew at halftime they were gonna lose, because they simply didn't put up enough points in the 1st half. The group I was chatting with said any comeback was impossible, I was seriously just waiting on it.

I give up. I give up on football. I'm done with the NFL after this. Right there with you. I love my Bears but I just can't give the NFL another minute of my time

The salt is intense AF! I don't get it. Sports happens. The Patriots hit the jackpot. It isn't worth walking away from a sport from unless you're looking for an excuse to bail.

Seeing some people on Facebook claiming this game was rigged. Don't know how you can rig that lucky ass catch by Edelman though. He doesn't catch that the game is likely over honestly.
Hell I am a Patriots fan and I can admit that catch was a combination of luck and skill. More luck than anything else.

Begrudging congrats to the Pats, but good god Atlanta- it's just so mind-boggling how you can go from 3 quarters of looking just faster and better to that debacle of a 4th quarter?

BREAKING NEWS: Falcons fans, alongside Steeler Nation and Packer Nation, will organize a march at the 2017 NFL Draft in Philly to protest the Pats' SB51 victory.
Of course, Raider Nation will ruin it for everyone by rioting.
EDIT: Cue the "Falcons blew a 28-3 lead" jokes:
"We know that feeling, Falcons." -- Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Indians Fans

Seriously though there's no way the Patriots should've came back and won. Watching the first two quarters it truly looked like Atlanta had their number. They were faster, more athletic, and were playing lights out and were truly beating the tar out of the Patriots.
Experience, leadership, and determination along with not giving up is what propelled the Patriots to their fifth Super Bowl. As a Patriots fan, I wanted Brady to win his fifth and possibly final ring, I wanted to see Goodell eat crow, and all those individuals who were talking trash about the Patriots and their fans on Facebook have a huge amount of egg on their face.
Of course I was definitely one of those fans who turned it off after seeing 21-3. I was of the mind that we're going to see a Seattle like beatdown that they administered to Denver. Lesson of the day? It's not over till it's over.

It is what it is, nothing will change the bottomline but I honestly do feel that something is fishy on how all of sudden a team can fall a part that fast THAT bad. I'm sure people will be talking about this for weeks, all the things ATL could have done different and what went wrong. At the end NE are the champs.

I'm sure people will be talking about this for weeks, all the things ATL could have done different and what went wrong. At the end NE are the champs. Nothing fishy about it. It was a snowball effect, partially brought on by the inexperience of the Falcons. The Pats started punching back, the Falcons started to panic a little, and as the second half dragged on, the Falcons' offense was spending less time on the field and the defense was spending more time. It is no secret, the longer a defense is on the field, with short gaps between their stints, the more gassed they get. It was plain and simply a victory by attrition. The Pats just kept grinding and grinding until the Falcons' defense just simply could not keep up with the offense, and then all hell broke loose. As soon as the Pats won the OT toss, I knew the game was over. The defense was just thoroughly finished by that point.

When your defense spends 40 minutes on the field, you're just not winning. The Falcons D was just straight up gassed at the end of the game.

In the second quarter, with Atl leading 21 or 28 to 3, my dad looked at me and said, "They'll come back and win it so Brady can make the biggest comeback in Superbowl history."
Who booked this shit?
