I have been watching some random Royal Rumbles lately in the leadup to Sunday's big event and I stumbled upon RR 2000 which I had never watched before. I haven't gotten through the match yet but there is a really depressing scene, at a point in the Rumble, there is the following sequence of entrants (order might be wrong or there might have been an entry in between):
Viscera Big Boss Man Test Davey Boy Smith
a few entrants later...Chyna
a couple after that...Crash Holly
I mean, yeesh. That isn't even counting Freddie Blassie, Moolah, or Mae Young (obviously those are different).
Sometime I get uncomfortable or just sad when I watch something from the late 80s or early 90s and realize that 3 of the 4 wrestlers are dead, but now it is even getting into this century and really depressing me.

Dude, the early 2000s were the resting place of many pro wrestlers, old and new. Shit, I quit watching for a while, after Benoit, I couldn't handle all of my heroes dying.

I just watched the first RR from 1988 and amazingly only four guys "went". They are Ultimate Warrior, Dino Bravo, Junkyard Dog and referee Joey Marella. R.I.P., guys.

What's the earliest Rumble where every participant is still alive?

What's the earliest Rumble where every participant is still alive? Unless there's someone that's dead that I forgot about, 2009.

That being said it's a fantastic ppv with Dudleys/Hardy, HHH/Cactus Jack, a great rumble match.

If you really want to be depressing.
The 1990 Royal Rumble has the highest amount of Wrestlers who are now dead.
12 of the 30 are no longer with us.
Randy Savage Roddy Piper Bad News Brown Dusty Rhodes Andre the Giant Jimmy Snuka Dino Bravo Earthquake Ultimate Warrior Rick Rude Hercules Mr Perfect.
Dangerously close to being half the match.
