I was absolutely shocked by this when I was a kid. I think the next week The Kid stole Razors gold chains or cash or something. I seem to remember Razor putting up like 10k in one of the old gimmick bags for a rematch. During the rematch, Waltman ate shit off the top rope on the outside and was barely able to steal the money. I'm pretty sure Scott said in a shoot interview that Waltman legit concussed himself with that and him and Earl Hebner almost screamed at Waltman to get the bag and run. Yes, I want to say that Hall told the story on Austin's show, but at any rate, that's what he said, that Kid f***ed up on a move and was pretty much out on his feet and had to be walked through the rest.

Yeah it was on Austin. Someone synced up the story with the video. I'd post it but it's WWE footage. Look for it.

That pin made me uncomfortable in about 69 different ways.

I had turned briefly away from the TV when it happened, and suddenly the announcers and crowd were flipping out. The new name every week had made me think they weren't serious about him at all, and I certainly would never have imagined he'd beat a top heel clean, if he ever won at all.
Good stuff. And then they did sort of a reduced version of it with P.J. Walker and IRS later that year.

I loved it because I used to love the Lightning Kid in GWF I don't think many understand just how good of a heel he was in this role Dude was like the Miz of his time. Arrogant, egocentric...he was a real jerk. Yet he was damn good.

I wonder why the attempt for a repeat with PJ Walker never went anywhere. Management liked him, he became friends with the right people, yet he ended up having to agree not to go to WCW in order to escape a WWF deal that wasn't paying him enough to live on.

I was already familiar with him as the Lightning Kid from GWF, so I was excited to see him win.

I knew The Kid as GWF's Lightening Kid, so I knew how good he was. I thought no way was he just here to eat a pin. He jobbed for a couple weeks in a row on previous Raw's.
