What did you think at the time?
I know Meltzer said that was one of the angles he always wanted to see. Do wish the net was as big back then as it is now. Would have loved to see what everyone thought about it

When the Kid upset Razor I think it's because he called him a "smelly stubbly faced dumb dumb poopy dork"

Maybe they should have given Morris Day the time to show his worth, too.

I thought it was great. It got that buzz going that anything could happen on RAW. Plus it got Razor face eventually which he needed to be at the time since half the crowd was cheering him anyway and it created a new star in Waltman. I would argue though that it created Waltman, he wasn't 'made' until he hooked up with Bret Hart I believe in 94 in that great match they had on RAW.

I was absolutely shocked by this when I was a kid. I think the next week The Kid stole Razors gold chains or cash or something.

I was absolutely shocked by this when I was a kid. I think the next week The Kid stole Razors gold chains or cash or something. I seem to remember Razor putting up like 10k in one of the old gimmick bags for a rematch. During the rematch, Waltman ate shit off the top rope on the outside and was barely able to steal the money. I'm pretty sure Scott said in a shoot interview that Waltman legit concussed himself with that and him and Earl Hebner almost screamed at Waltman to get the bag and run.

I knew The Kid as GWF's Lightening Kid, so I knew how good he was. I thought no way was he just here to eat a pin.

You could tell he was someone they had plans for because he wasn't in plain trunks or tights and had a wrestler name, well, several in fact, if he was just there to eat pins he would have been Sean Waltman in trunks to show off how thin he was next to the bigger stars, much like Jack Foley, the Hardys or Ross Hart.

I was much more excited to see Marty Jannetty come back and beat Shawn Michaels. The Kid upset was cool but it wasn't thing I really marked out* for during that Raw.
* At the time I had no idea what that meant.

Is this up on the Network? Yes,It's the 5/17/1993 Raw where the Kid gets the upset win, the 6/21/1993 episode is the rematch where Kid takes a nasty fall and manages to runaway with Razor's money.

I was about to ask what kid? Lmao Kamikaze, Cannonball, 1-2-3 or simply The Kid, he used all those names around the time. He was a kid of many names and of little eyebrows.

One of the angles that hooked me. Razor sold it really well.

I loved it because I used to love the Lightning Kid in GWF I don't think many understand just how good of a heel he was in this role

I had an idea of who he was when this happened. I remember seeing him mentioned in all of those Apter magazines.
I was really excited when he pinned Razor. It was so incredible.

Hey, as Lightning Kid he actually got a decent match out of Chaz in Global. That's no mean feat. Would you believe I actually did not see this Raw when it aired? I had a little league game that night and for whatever reason didn't record Raw, or thought I might be home in time. The next day at school some guys were talking about how awesome the show was. I think I didn't bother because the previous few weeks had been kinda nothing happening. I did see it on the weekend shows, but somehow the impact wasn't quite the same as if I had seen it live.

They'd been using him as a generic jobber for a while on Raw (and weekend shows too? not sure...), and his "gimmick" was that he kept changing his name. He just looked like such a newb that you never expected him to actually become a character beyond the jobber role.
......once or twice I've wondered if he'd just stayed a jobber (getting cut instead of rising high to where he'd end up) how life would've been different for Sean Waltman...
