Taker should've walked away when he could, back when "The Streak" was 20-0. Every single match he has had since XXVIII have been absolutely abysmal both in terms of execution and storytelling. Even when Lesnar ended it, the match itself was a mess and the shock came more from how quickly it ended instead of the Streak itself ending.
He's had tolerable to good matches at WrestleMania (and the tiny handful of other matches) since, but just barely, and that's just because of how terrible the rest of the card has been performing thanks to the rise of the Roman Forcefed Nightmare. I'm glad the guy went as far as he did, but the mystique of the character is falling apart around him as long as Vince lets him limp in and try to be an indestructible demon still.

Taker was listening to some Kenny Loggins before the Rumble and decided to get "Footloose".

Yeah I don't mind a bit of nostalgia, but it's in danger of entering 'Sad to see' territory. When he pulled down the straps on his outfit I was begging him to put them back up to hide his moobs and gut.

They need to do Cena/Taker this year if they're ever gonna do it. Taker just isn't gonna be able to go much longer.

Undertaker is my favorite of all time, but he looked and moved awful in the Rumble. He definitely definitely needs to retire now.

The man is an absolute legend, he's done everything that there is to do, he's financially secure, he's got a job in the WWE for life, and he's someone that should get an entire wing of the Hall of Fame dedicated to him. To guys like him, though, its just too hard to step away from what you've done for so many years.
Angle was the same way, but he seems to have put his wrestling days behind him now that the WWE has brought him back into the fold.

The perfect ending to his and HHH's careers would have been the end of the era match. I still don't get the name of the match unless that is what it was intended to be and something happened to get both of them back into the fold.
Taker needs to retire but they need to find a way to write him off. I don't want to see him lose again at WM, that would just be asinine. With that said and how the RR went, I totally see them having Roman Reigns beat him to once again make Roman look strong. That will get him over, pal.

I'm a massive Undertaker fan and even I want him to retire. It's getting to the point where it's just sad to watch. I'd like for this to be his last WM, but I'll be goddamn if I want him to go out losing to/wrestling Roman Reigns.

I think it was basically the end to the long semi-connected storyline between HBK, Undertaker, and HHH, but it didn't really end anything as Triple H and Undertaker kept wrestling anyways. I wish it was his last match too, that would have been an absolutely perfect way to go out.

It's almost like he's a middle-aged man with bad hips or something.

I thought he looked pretty rough at the time, but today when I watched the 2007 Rumble again, it was even more glaring. 10 years is a looooooong time.

Yeah I don't mind a bit of nostalgia, but it's in danger of entering 'Sad to see' territory. I feel this way more about Goldberg. He looks a bit out of place there and him using his old WCW music just feels like mid life crisis. His WWE theme was less cheesy IMO.

It's almost like he's a middle-aged man with bad hips or something. It's almost like people know that that's exactly what's going on and are speaking from a general desire to not see someone whose body is starting to break down from the rigorous and brutal work he's done for decades break himself even further.

I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't trying to be condescending towards the posters in the thread. My sarcasm was aimed at WWE for insisting on dragging him out every year.

I totally did misunderstand you there.

Yeah, I noticed it too. Probably from his screwed up hips. That and his clotheslines were looking weak. But the punches still look good and I'm glad he's still around. Maybe he can make a comeback if he does some DDP Yoga. I'm picturing Michelle McCool setting the DDP Yoga stuff on the coffeetable in front of old man 'Taker, only for him to swat it onto the ground and yell 'CALL IT IN THE f***ING RING!'
