In 2002 I fully believed Orton was gonna be the next franchise player , & Cena would be the number 2 guy .
I always believed AJ would have a run in WWE- but never imagined he would be as big as he is

Who's gonna be number 30 this year? Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Kenny Omega, or a surprise entrant? I'm so excited! Why is Roman Reigns music playing!? God f***ing damn it!

That Edge would be a midcarder for life.
Mr. Kennedy would be a mega-star for the WWE. I'm a mark for characters that provide some twist on the presentation beyond just a full-screen tron (Drew McIntyre) or 4 second entrance effect (Bray Wyatt).
I thought Drew McIntyre would be a big deal too. They strapped a rocket to his ass, and during his highest heights he seemed worthy of that push. It seemed like WWE truly was smarter than everyone else for a change. But then...pfffft. Same with Wade Barrett. Strange how they seem like they're gonna commit to someone outside the US, and then whiff on it. They finally got it with Sheamus I suppose, but it's a toss-up between him and Barrett for me (edge to Sheamus just on being less injury-prone), and I'd DEFINITELY take Drew McIntyre over the both of them.
John Morrison was gonna come back and cost Miz his WWE championship.
A very recent one, I thought James Ellsworth was (by some act of God) going to eliminate a big-time player from the Rumble to try to top Maven eliminating Taker; likely Stroman but I deliberated it being Jericho, Kane, even Brock...in fact, in a Discord message session, I even threw Roman Reigns' name out there as someone Ellsworth could eliminate. It'd been a long time since we had a truly shocking elimination like that, and I thought they had the recipe this year to pull that off.

I thought Miz would make an excellent face, his underdog look, the way he can engage the crowd, his rags to riches rise, his willingness to do whatever PR wise, plus he'd been a heel forever. I was quite excited when he turned face.
Gawd was he a boring face. The Flair jr gimmick didn't help but also Miz was so unsympathetic when the heels beat him down. It took the movie star gimmick for him to rebuild had he stayed face well he's got enough to avoid FE and a one way ticket to impact but he'd be in the Swagger role of journeyman vet. Should remain heel for the rest of his career (bar maybe a tiny turn towards the end) IMO.

I thought that The Streak would never end, and that Taker would go out on his back at his first PPV, Survivor Series, instead. With Vince's love of money, I thought he would never cut off his chance of an unblemished Streak DVD once Taker was done. I think there might be one or two such DVD's already but an updated 'entire collection' DVD was, I thought, too much for Vince to turn down.
I thought that after the pipe bomb and MITB '11, that Punk was going to take wrestling into a new boom period. And then Nash and HHH happened.
I also thought, after what he got up to in NXT and his initial main roster run, that Daniel Bryan would never do anything in WWE. It made me sad because even then I thought he was awesome. I just never thought live crowds would ever catch fire with him the way they did. I'm glad I was wrong about that one.

I was convinced that despite the horrible build, WM27 would be a great show. Even when everyone on this board was saying it was going to suck, I used WM17 as an example of a fantastic, memorable show with a crappy build to illustrate my point. Welp, those two shows could not have been any more different. You were all right and I was very, very wrong.

I thought they were pushing the wrong guy when the Rockers broke up. There was no pushing during the Rockers break up. Jannetty jumped through that window himself.

I thought Ric Flair was going to have at least one more WWE World Title reign when he returned to the WWF. The IC Title run was cool, but unfortunately it was at a time when WWE's midcard was pretty forgettable (IMO late 2004-2007 is one of WWE's worst periods looking back).
Speaking of 2004-2007, and how much of an afterthought the midcard became, there were a ton of times someone won the tag titles or IC Title and I thought, "okay, now they are going to rebuild the division and make it important again". I really kind of wish I had stopped watching altogether around that time.
I thought Hogan's title reign in 2002 was going to last longer than a month. Also, not realizing just how much his ego got in the way of business, I figured he was going to stick around for a while.
When I first started watching in 1999, and I saw pictures of the Legion of Doom, I thought they were going to be these badasses that ruled the tag team scene. I was pretty disappointed when they came back around Wrestlemania to only be in two more matches.

I didn't think much of CM Punk, Cody Rhodes or The Miz when they all debuted circa 2006-2007.
I wasn't a fan personally and I thought they'd be completely outshined by guys like Kennedy, MVP, Johnny Nitro etc.

I was positive Daniel Bryan would win the 2014 Royal Rumble.
I thought WWE would keep the Streak going until it was Undertaker vs. Cena.

I thought that Ric Flair was going to end Triple-H's title reign on Raw in 2003.
I think a lot of us thought that Daniel Bryan winning the Royal Rumble in 2014 was an easy prediction, of course it went terribly wrong.

I was so sure Undertaker's streak was going to continue that despite it playing on a monitor less than a foot away from me, I wasn't even paying attention to the screen during his 'Mania 30 match against Brock.

My memory is terrible for things like this. I can name every world champ in chronological order, but find it hard to remember when I predicted something incorrectly. I do, however, remember not thinking they'd break the streak at WM 30, because I thought they'd have done it when he faced Orton, and once that didn't happen they'd just let him retire with it. I also thought Bret would beat Owen at WM X, and was pissed as a young Bret mark that he lost, but hindsight made me realize how great it was that he lost.
