So this has been going on a little while now but it seems to be getting worse. The great triple threat main event on Smackdown was almost spoiled for me due to the constant cuts to people instaneously after a big move or a 2 count. Then they're shown again in the replays.. it's just too much. It looks hokey and it's just lame and it really is effecting my enjoyment in the product, a great match just felt like a good match while I got annoyed at the posing mugs of the WWE Universe.

To sum up the crowd shots and why they happen:

It's done way too often. It's always been lame. It was lame when they'd zoom up to crying women when Shawn lost his smile and it's lame now showing a fan acting goofy when Cena kicks out of his 10th finisher.

I always wonder what the reaction of Vince and Co backstage is when they cut to a fan for no reason who is just standing there emotionless or checking their phone or something. Like "Yeah that looked great! That lady scratching her cheek really added to the drama!". It's strange how an "entertainment" company has such a ban handle on what looks pleasing to a viewer.

The crowd shots after near falls are annoying and stupid but I could at least understand the rationale (maybe it might entice people to buy a ticket so they could become a meme someday).
The shots of the crowd watching a segment on the tron still baffles me. I can't think of one damn reason why they do that.

I don't mind the reaction shots when they tack them on to a replay. Usually they have a good one (whether for that moment is up in the air though) and it adds a bit to it in that "look how shocking it was" element. Cutting from live action to do it annoys the piss out of me though, as they always seem to miss something important and rarely catch a good reaction.

I'm just mad I didn't make it onto the Rumble show because me and my friend were really hamming it up during the Cena/Styles match. I could have lived in reaction GIF infamy on FAN. Damn you Kevin Dunn.

It's fine after a huge spot where both guys are down but just showing them in hope of getting some epic viral response is annoying as hell. I don't care that someone liked a clothesline.

Live crowd shots are one thing.
It's the worst when they edit them and attach them to stuff they weren't originally reactions to, though. (see the Reigns edit from Raw a while back)

Unless there was just a helluva spot or a face/heel turn we can see the damn crowd (and certainly hear them) there is little need to show Average Joe or Kid Daughter Jill reacting to every near fall.
I do enjoy crowd reactions when they are in the post-match replays though, where they belong. I watch USA Network to see live Superstars, I could not care any less about live crowd shots

Man, during the Rumble they cut to those crowd shots almost before the kick outs.
It was just so dumb.

I get why they do crowd shots after big moments, but the problem is they do it all the time and they do it too fast. It's instantly after a big moment happens and it disorients the viewer and takes them out of the moment. If they would wait a second and then show a reaction, it would make it much better. The cut is just way too fast. That or just show the reaction during replays. That way you get the best of both worlds.
The idea behind it is if they can get one good reaction shot, it's money. The problem is they keep shooting darts on the board without looking, you'll hit the board sometime or another. There's times it shows fans who could not care about the match, and if the fans don't care, why should the people at home?
I fell like they have been a little better with it in the last Smackdown I watched until the main event. Then it got bad again.

To sum up the crowd shots and why they happen: I think you mean Vince McMahon. Because if you genuinely believe he doesn't micro-manage every single little thing about his company, then I don't know how else to explain it. I'm beginning to sound like a stuck record over this but the reason the crowd cutaways happen are because of Vince McMahon. Dunn may have suggested them in the first place but Vince has made the final decision to keep doing it and even though Dunn is Vince's buddy and apparently holds some influence over Vince, if Vince hated the crowd shots, they would be gone. Bottom line, Vince is such an Autocrat that he's hands-on with everything you see on the screen. It's one of the things just about everyone says about him in shoots.

I can understand how it can grate on people, but I've never really been bothered by it.
It was actually funny this week on SmackDown because of the guy with a sign that was just a blown-up picture of the weird googly-eye looking Dana Brooke render from the 2K17 game.

It's really creepy that there's cameras possibly on you without you knowing about it at all times recording your reaction.
I'm sure the producers backstage use this all the time to rib on people as well.

The shots of the crowd watching a segment on the tron still baffles me. I can't think of one damn reason why they do that. They started doing that because people were saying 'How does the crowd know what's going on backstage? We see it on TV, but they can't see it in the arena.' I remember threads about that from my early wrestling forum days.
