Haven't kept up with all the Newz, but haven't heard him mentioned in ages.
Will he ever be back?

He's apparently been cleared to return from the neck injury that took him out of the Dusty, but I guess they're just waiting for the right angle for a return or maybe they might cut their losses for the NXT run and just put him on the main roster after WrestleMania.

I really feel like putting him on the main roster this soon would be a huge mistake. He still has plenty of room to develop on NXT.

Amazing to think that if the rumors are true he was taking the NXT title from Kevin Owens in Japan.

Maybe they're waiting for Aries to be cleared to compete again, and they'll put Itami and Aries in the Cruiserweight division?

Just put him right in 205 live so he can continue his beef with Aries

Just put him right in 205 live so he can continue his beef with Aries I feel like this is the best option. Itami's great, and he could definitely get over big time. But NXT is so different from what it was when he came in as the next big deal. Throw him in 205 Live where he can get reacclimated and build up somewhere that isn't Full Sail and I think he'll do fine.

Hopefully moved out of NXT before Papa Shango strikes again.

If he's smart, he's looking for Gedo's phone number.

His english has really improved and he has gotten a lot of kinks out his game when he first started. He can be thrown in 205 and be instantly credible. Besides him and Aries got unfinished business anyway.

He can go back to Japan and get a heroes welcome but I still think he wants the challenge of WWE. With him coming up to main roster he won't have to teach the new guys who can get hurt him(by accident) but I think Hideo wants to be there. As I said before you put him in CW division and you instantly have a star. The GTS is so over and Hideo brings intense energy different from the charismatic Nakamura and Asuka.

Hideo is a waste in NXT and him getting f***ed up by a greenhorn so quickly after returning is proof positive that it's not worth going for a third swing at developmental. Move him up and let him do some shit of value instead of toiling down in developmental where he's still going to get lost in the shuffle. Both main roster shows are starved for talent right now while NXT not only has a bottleneck of top guys who can work, but even more people waiting in the wings to be introduced like Tommy End and Chris Hero again apparently, plus rumoured ROH guys on the wait period.

Have him debut at Fastlane after Neville retains against Gallagher. Running Knee. GTS. Boom, new feud heading into Mania.

What works to Hideo advantage is that he cuts promos in English and can get everything over. They are selling Akira on intensity and being different while Tajiri is the grizzled veteran. It depends how they build him up. It would be a huge endorsement to have someone like Daniel sing his praises about how he tried incorporate some his moves

Yea, I see people starting to get real defensive about possibility of Adam Cole making the jump. Hero is now making his return to TV but you obviously got to take into account others who have contracts but have not premiered on tv

Itami still hasn't recovered from the mystery parking lot beatdown..
Kevin Owens walked by and said "that's a shame"
