It's amazing. Most of them orbit their star in just a few days. Incredible.

I am beyond fascinated and beyond frustrated that I can't live long enough to find out everything I want to know about this news.

These stars and planets need to get proper names.
It sucks when NASA come out with statements like "Today we discovered that Reference Catagory 474937 has planets orbiting it, the largest of which is Reference Catagory 474937-E"
Today if they announced that the star Gorgon has seven planets orbiting it, the largest of which Gorgon III orbits in only 20 days"
"Gorgon star system" would immediately start trending. NASA could then create logos for it. Official Gorgonian merchandise could then be released, bringing extra funds to NASA.

I am beyond fascinated and beyond frustrated that I can't live long enough to find out everything I want to know about this news. This is what I was thinking all day about it, honestly. If we (as a species) survive long enough, this age will be looked on as discovering the wheel. They're like, what, 30 light years away? Damn. The coolest aspect is that the planets are so close to each other they can see the other planets with a blind eye...through the scope of thousands or millions of years, that's an incredible Sci-Fi Book/Movie waiting to happen.

The one thing I hope happens before I croak is 100% proof of life on other planets. I believe there's life out there, given how many planets and stars there are it's ridiculous to think we're the only one with life.
I'd settle even for 100% proof of bacterial life.

I'm convinced intelligent life has observed us and went "Naaaaah fam, I'm good" in alien terminology of course.

On one hand, I'm glad we'll likely only see the tip of the iceberg of this stuff in our lifetimes. Things are gonna get scary once we find something significant out there. On the other, man would it be fascinating to be alive centuries from now to see it all unfold.

I am beyond fascinated and beyond frustrated that I can't live long enough to find out everything I want to know about this news. We have to plan ahead. For example, Sedna, which is probably a dwarf planet, takes 11,000 years to orbit the Sun, but by sheer good fortune, it will make its closest approach to the Sun in 2076, but if we send a probe in 2030, it can be intercepted and photographed. We won't get another chance to do it. linkJust look at Alan Stern and the New Horizons team. Not only did they successfully plan a fly by of Pluto, but in January 2019, the same probe will intercept another likely dwarf planet. link

So they jobbed Pluto out of its slot as a planet and are now pushing these planets that are not even in the Galaxy.
When will NASA learn??
