While Vince McMahon technically held the WWE and ECW Championship in his 50s and 60s, he wasn't an active wrestler.
Goldberg won the Universal Title at 50.
Granted, we can count Ric Flair's last WCW win and Sting won the TNA title, but we are talking about the WWE World Title(s) here.
For not being a Vince McMahon creation, Goldberg is doing well for himself.

That has to be some kind of record for time between World title wins. He hadn't won a World title since Unforgiven 2003, that's almost 13 1/2 years.

Bob Backlund was 43 ish when he beat Bret Hart for the title. Even as a kid then, I felt he was too old.

Backlund was a hair under 11 years, and I can't think of anyone other than Goldberg who beats Backlund's record.

What about when Hogan came back and won the title in the early 2000s? Was he really younger than Goldberg is now? Cuz man, I really thought that was too old for another Hogan reign.

"Active" His combined ring time in 3 matches back is probably less than 4 minutes.

I hope I can look that good at 50. You mean gassing after walking to the ring?

Another record: Goldberg is going to be the oldest wrestler to headline Wrestlemania.
