They've hinted at Dana turning on Charlotte for a long time, they even had an aborted attempt several months ago. Now it's a few weeks out from 'Mania. Where if anywhere could this go? I know that in general most folks feel that Dana is no good, that's she's regressed but this is a bit of a classic story going all the way back to Dibiase and Virgil (maybe further back than that but that's the earliest one I witnessed). Still, to do it this close to WM seems an odd choice. I figure either next week Charlotte puts Dana in her place and that's it, Dana is left a jobber or sent back to NXT (or as some would hope, put back with Emma) or this is a swerve and she's going to cheat on Charlotte's behalf at WM. Anyways, why do you think they waited this long? If they waited this long, why not wait until after WM? Is there a reason I'm not seeing?

Because Banks is about to turn and there'd literally be NO OTHER ACTIVE BABYFACES IN THE DIVISION than Bayley. It'd even remain a problem post-whenever the next draft is. Currently, Smackdown has, like, Becky and Nikki. I cannot recall any other faces there, either. It has become absurd. |

Currently, Smackdown has, like, Becky and Nikki. I cannot recall any other faces there, either. It has become absurd. Naomi, but she's injured. |

That's fair, they need another face. Though they have Emma doing absolutely nothing, they could make her a face. At the same time, if you have Dana as the number 2 face in your division, you're in a bad state.
Then again both women's divisions are tiny. Smackdown did a great job initially with the few people they had. Some still love it, some less so but there's only so much you can do with 6-7 people I guess.

I feel like they're going to do that, "The entire active division in the match," thing SmackDown's doing with Raw as well. You might as well really, the only other ones if you don't count Alicia are Dana and Nia and the Charlotte / Bayley / Sasha triple threat already happened at Clash of Champions and was an awkward botchfest.

I guess it is because of the potential Sasha turn.
Still, I'm so used to Dana as a heel, it'd feel weird for her to be a face for a while. Her character relies on being that arrogant loudmouth, not sure if she can do the fiery whitemeat face.
The Raw women's divison does need an extra two or three wrestlers in there, I do agree.

Honestly, I kinda want Charlotte to squash her and injure her or something. Put her back in NXT with the backdrop of Charlotte being too strong for her and she has to work her way back up from the very bottom to get her revenge.

This will probably be forgotten in the next week or so and Dana will be back to helping Charlotte. Cant see Dana ever being a face and i think women pretty much tend to make better heels and tweeners so i dont see the problem with it being heel heavy.

It is kind of likely- but it seems more like a Sasha turn is more collective wishful thinking by the fans, specifically of "But we WANNA see Sasha and Bayley fight forever!" than it is "would it be a good decision?". |
