They paid him a crapton of money, and despite Dana's posturing last time, he'll do anything for a buyrate. Already signed a man who never had a pro fight, at that age, it's too late to try to pretend it isn't a sideshow act.

Jesus. Vitor is not Mickey Gall. I've seen Vitor KO guys like Matt Lindland so hard that they're left twitching and convulsing on the ground. I realize money talks, but Vitor Belfort would legit be one of the few guys I'd be afraid of.

Vitor only called out Punk, doubt it's actually happening.
That said, it wouldn't shock me one bit to see Punk in another high profile UFC fight.

I'm grasping at straws trying to figure out what athletic commission would even sanction the match. Punk is 0-1, and Vitor holds KO victories over the current middleweight champion and the guy who had the championship before that in Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold. He's beaten Couture, he was the first to knock out Dan Henderson (who has a chin made of adamantium), and his BJJ is light years ahead of Gall's, at that. Even with Vitor Belfort being on the downward slope of his career, I don't see how: A. An athletic commission approves the fight or B. CM Punk holds the slightest chance short of Vitor slipping on a banana peel and breaking his leg. Even then, he could probably still KTFO Punk from his back. |

Also, I'm not sure if it would be the draw it was for the first time around if he was cleared by the commission. We know Punk is way out of his league and Vitor is the last guy he wants to be in there with. |

The original source had that as its headline even though in the actual interview Vitor laughs when he says it and it's acknowledged as being just a joke, but there have been several articles that leave that out and as you said there's even been match graphics made. |
