I read Death of WCW and in that book, it mentions that due to a snafu, the blood that was supposed to fall from the ceiling and absolutely drench the wrestlers, it drenched the fans. I saw the pic of Flair getting absolutely drenched with blood when he had the Figure 4 on Russo and I wondered how drenched the fans got with blood.
That is an angle that needs to be inducted by RD Reynolds or a member of his team. I know I would get a good laugh reading it.

This is a case of that Death of WCW book twisting the truth or point blank being wrong in an attempt to be entertaining. To my knowledge (And I've watched a lot of WCW from that time period) the "New Blood" blood never hit any fans on TV much like how Rick Steiner wasn't attacked by a masked man only to reveal he was the masked man.

Oh, I guess i was wrong about it hitting the fans. Still, I think it should be inducted.

I've read the book several times, and I don't recall it saying that it hit fans, just that it missed by a lot.

Also made a point of saying the fans failed to sell it. Here's the relevant excerpt from the book. “More hilarity occurred later in the program, when Kevin Nash was the target of the dreaded red blood. However, something went awry as the blood was dropped from the ceiling, and it missed him by a mile. In fact, the only people it drenched were the folks who had spent decent money to get front-row seats. Unlike all the wrestlers, the fans did not sell the blood as being poisonous. They showed a shot of Nash looking utterly confused, then cut to a shot of a horrified Vince Russo standing there with his jaw hanging open. Konnan and Juvie, standing behind him, totally broke character and burst out laughing."

Didn't Konnan & Juvie laugh because they were a part of the faction behind the blood? I just looked at them as being assholes laughing at this "attack".
Russo, OTOH, looked white as a ghost. He eyes bugged out as if he said "OH SHIT!"

I know that when you attend a wrestling event and you see a wrestler giving another wrestler a beer bath or you see a wrestler drenching the crowd (i.e. DX drenching the crowd with a hose), the promotion is not at fault but I can on,y imagine what it would happen if fans got absolutely drenched in blood other than the obvious.

I went back and forth on some of them, and never saw red liquid get any fans. Meanwhile, many WWF fans were drernched by beer and milk. Or from the red Kool-aid that Gangrel would spit into the crowd. Having ringside seats during the Attitude era Raws was worst than being at a Gallagher concert.

Ok, I just watched footage of the Nash incident on youtube. Basically a couple of trickles of blood fell directly on Nash before the stream veered wildly to his right and soaked the edge of the ring and the ring ropes. Juvie starting laughing, but that seemed in character. Russo's face screamed "WTF production crew?", while Konnan just looked on in confusion.
The most important thing I learned from watching this video was that "Santo and the Vengeance of the Mummy" won last weeks Cinema Snob poll. Can't wait to listen to that at work tomorrow.

I think one of the problems was that Russo was expecting WWE level production from a similarly budgeted company, and, yeah, WCW had never really done anything like that. One only need to watch the one episode of RAW in 1998, leading up to KOTR, as Kane doused Steve Austin in blood to sell their upcoming "First Blood" match, to see that done properly. It was an awesome visual, and I think Russo was thinking of something like that on a reoccurring basis, but, yeah, the production crew had zero idea how to pull that shit off properly, so....

Funny how two people can watch the same incident and come to vastly different conclusions.
The book says the blood completely missed Nash, went all over the crowd, Nash looked confused, Russo looked horrified and wrestlers broke character by laughing. To me, some of it hit Nash, most of it went on the ring with none touching the fans and Nash, Russo and the others all appeared to react in line with the script.

When was this blood incident? I've always believed the book's version, so now I'm curious to watch it for myself.
