What is the word/phrase you see yourself using far too much? For my papers I begin too many sentences with So that it bums me out when I'm doing proof reading. Like why do I do this thing I always need to correct in the proof read

I never need to proof read since everything I write is prefect.

Having a degree in writing myself, I have a long list of them. But I'll keep my list short.
I tend to go apeshit with commas. I used to be really bad about not catching it, but now I tend to go back and rewrite/restructure sentences.
My toughest lesson was with typing up redundancies. I'd just straight-up type details that were given. But I also had a writing professor that would then complain that would constantly ask "what's [X]? You need to explain that some more" or "I've never heard of [Y]". Her lesson ended up being to consider the audience. I liked writing about electronics and media and things like that, while she had never heard of the Twilight series in 2010 when they were on the 3rd film (not to mention the book series had been done for at least a couple of years), admitted she only watched public television, and used the internet exclusively for e-mail and using a program that checked for plagiarism. She didn't have a damn clue about anything I wrote for her classes. She once even asked what a "PlayStation" was when reviewing my paper, said I needed to explain that in the paper, and insisted I forgot to put a space between "Play-" and "-station". She refused to believe that was how Sony itself had labeled the product.

Overuse of the world "also". I also go a bit OTT with the commas.

Not so much here, but at work I have noticed that, from time-to-time, I may use a few too many qualifiers when I am attempting to communicate. I usually try not to use so many, but perhaps I might think it makes the message sound not so confrontational so it may ease into productive discussion a little bit better more often than not.
