So, let's go over the big names that RAW actually got...
- Dean? Not happy about it but they clearly want their Shield guys on the same brand. - Alexa? She's less than a year into her main roster run. She'll be fine. - Bray? Good honestly, I guess, whatever. Smackdown managed to hand him the most important title in the company and it didn't mean a thing. Wasn't the fresh start I was hoping for.
And then there's... Miz.
Miz. He had three big feuds on SDL (Ziggler, Dean, Cena) and he made the absolute most of them. Not even getting into his shoots on Talking Smack or how well he did when he co-hosted the show as 'Mike.' I can't see him breaking through on RAW. I can see Wyatt breaking through again but I don't know how Miz does. I expect him to be pretty mid-card with none of the big match opportunities he had on SDL. I was really looking forward to Shinsuke vs Miz too.
So, yeah, my hot take: Miz is the only real loss for Team Blue.

His world title aspirations are dead now that he is not on Smackdown but he will still be a viable piece of the puzzle on the show.

I like when Miz loses matches, so I look forward to his best of 200 with Sami and Finn.

I really don't understand moving him.
If we assume AJ is a face, then the top heel on SD right this second is Baron Corbin.
Now, Kevin Owens is coming and he'd likely assume that role, but certainly Miz would have given a big boost to a weak heel side.
Maybe turn Orton now?

If they're this high on Miz, and it means we're going to get Reigns Vs. Miz eventually, I'll be content to cheer for Roman.

I was honestly getting amped up for a Miz/Nakamura feud. Feels like he had so much more to give/get at SDL, but Vince and Co. had other plans...

He will get over whatever needs to on Raw. He's moved into that Jericho/Punk heel role where he can lose all the time but get his heat right back. If they position him into a complete fluke shenanigan filled title win over Lesnar and turn him loose on the mic, it will be amazing.

A Miz/Nakamura feud with him working towards getting back in the title picture excited me quite a bit.
On Raw? Dude's got no chance.

Miz is great but let's get serious, OP is right.
Miz would have been a world champion on SDL but honestly the fact is that on Raw he's behind others. He's behind the Shield Boys, he's behind Balor, he's behind Wyatt, he's behind Strowman and depending on where Zayn and Owens land he's behind them too. Ambrose will go heel and you have a main event heel. Strowman and Wyatt are major heels. There's no midcard heel who can excel but Miz really. One thing you can say though is Miz is the ultimate example of turning a coal into a diamond angle-wise. He's that guy. He's the midcard gatekeeper you use to judge others before they move up to the big leagues. He's the guy you send to feud with a new midcarder to see if they're worth their salt. He's that guy who get can someone ready, he can get anyone over.
And if I remember right...PWI was where the "Reigns to SDL" rumors came from it said "so Reigns can feud with strong heels like Miz and Corbin" if I remember right, who knows. Either way, Miz will be getting in the main event at least against Reigns, I'm sure of it.
I just don't think he'll ever be world champion on this brand. Not with a litany of guys who are better than him. I mean Ambrose crushed this dude's IC push. Easily. Lord knows what Reigns, Rollins and Balor will do. He's also seen as as cowardly bitch from a kayfabe perspective.
Maybe he'll be drafted to SDL again once Bryan leaves the company but that's the only thing I can expect from him.

It was honestly heartbreaking to see Miz and Maryse drafted to RAW. They were staples on SD and were instrumental in helping it become what it did after the brand split. All the momentum they had built up over the past year was literally for nothing and now they'll be stuck in mid-card hell on RAW when they should be main eventing on SD. A tragedy.
