www.teneightep.com/blog/superman-64-reviewThis week, I take a look at a game that's a staple on many "all-time worst" lists; "Superman" for the Nintendo 64. What kind of maligned reputation does this game have, and does it truly deserve it?

Shouldn't kryptonite fog kill Superman? I never understood that.
Also $6 still sounds like a ripoff.

Rumor is "Kryptonite fog over Metropolis" was supposed to be the main plot of the game originally. That was Titus' way of explaining away the bad draw distances.

and does it truly deserve it? Yes. It's not just becuase of the shitty ring segments you start with but all the other terrible buggy levels that follow as well.

I've played worse professionally released games, but not many. Obviously, the kind of shit Jim Sterling plays on Steam often probably dips into worse still, but I am sticking with ones published by people with any degree of experience.

I've played worse professionally released games, but not many. Obviously, the kind of shit Jim Sterling plays on Steam often probably dips into worse still, but I am sticking with ones published by people with any degree of experience. Spoiler for the final verdict of my review: {Spoiler}{Spoiler} That's pretty much what I decided and why I gave it that .5. I did feel a somewhat ironic joy from playing it, and I'm usually not a guy that feels that. I hate shitty movies that try way too hard, and I hate shitty games. And the times I wasn't enjoying the game far outweighed those morsels of ironic fun. Again, if we're talking just "enjoyment", I've played worse (hence I let it off with the ".5"). But if we're quantifying everything the game has; shitty graphics, shitty controls, failures both in concept and in execution, the glitches...in that quantifiable respect, it's the worst game I've ever played.
And I do plan on having a flat out zero as an actual score, but it would take something either truly atrocious that's devoid of any fun whatsoever, or something that doesn't function right by design...not that I own either, but Dragon's Lair on NES or Action 52 come to mind.
