IMO aesthetically "Forever" is the best as it got the balance spot on (Absolutely adore Riddler's base)
- Burton's is overly dark (I still love it though) - & Robin is too gaudy - Nolan's is too bland
Also the butchering of scenes didn't help "forever" but overall I find it a solid movie, Soundtrack is awesome.
My biggest gripes are the villains, Carrey was too OTT (And his plot felt more like Mad Hatter than Riddler) & Jones' Two Face was awful.
This could all be bias though as "Forever" reminds me of a happy time in my life

Also stuff like Two face just constantly flipping a coin until he gets the decision he wants was stupid and pretty much removes the reason he flipped the coin in the first place.

I think to this day Clooney has the best version of Bruce, though playing a charming playboy isnt a big stretch for him. You say this, but imagine Robert Downey Jr. playing Bruce instead of Tony Stark (and Clooney as Iron Man), imagine the possibilities for DC's expanded movie universe... and imagine having to deal with Clooney for Avengers and Captain America 'Civil War' ughhh... Marvel pretty much based an entire Marvel movie franchise around RDJ. Clooney is generally the bottom-2 fave Batman, which in James Bond terms is on "Roger Moore" level. Hard to jumpstart The Bat's role in the DC Universe when you shift the main player every half decade though, understandably. In any case no Batman is a perfect 10 unless he's drawn in ink.

I can never hate on Forever. Carrey needed stronger editing and Tommy Lee Jones needed a completely different script, but Kilmer was fine as both Bruce and Batman. A solid 7/10 performance.
Besides, after his Doc Holliday performance he gets a free pass for pretty much everything from me.

When I watch films like the Number 23, The Truman Show, The Majestic, or even Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind the disappointment factor kicks in because Jim Carrey would make an awesome serious Riddler.

As much as I like him as an actor, Tommy Lee Jones really hurt Batman Forever with his ridiculous performance. Two Face was never a bootleg Joker in the comics. Don't know why he was portrayed as a kooky, crazy psychopath.

Forever is just as bad as and Robin, but both are fun Forever was trying to stick to the Burton way of doing a Batman movie while also venturing outside those areas into places Schumacher preferred to hang out. Batman and Robin is a lazy carbon copy of Forever. It's a clone of a Burton movie clone and then you shove its face in a Tony Montana-esque pile of cocaine, shine neon lights on it and yell "ACTION!" I think outside Clooney's well-natured Bruce Wayne, any Batman '66 connections are us trying to make sense of it and doing our best to ignore a drug-maddened cinematic duplication yelling ice puns and pretending to be Bette Davis on steroids.

If you watch 66 though, their Freeze dropped ice puns right n left. And Robin stole that directly from 66.
